There are some philosophies that the powers that be will boldly shut down because if allowed to grow unfettered the effect on society as we know it can be catastrophic.

The entire "relationship industry" is too big to allow such a philosophy to run rampant so you can imagine...demonize, mischaracterize, censor, ban...anything possible to shut down such a philosophy is the obvious plan.

Even if they WERE wrong about their assertions, even if their attitude WAS an overreaction - So, what? Who is their 'overreaction' harming?

Very simple goals, the target of their philosophy is themselves (ie they have no demands or expectations for other people)

There's no way to try and tear them down without validating them (which is why those that feel threatened by them will censor instead of debate)

The marriage killed me. I couldn’t leave for fear of what might happen, and the fear was entirely justified. I can’t fix what my ex did to the kids. I can’t forget what the system does to dads and men in general. Once you see it it in action, you can’t not see it.

What’s left of me will get my kids raised. I can’t add any risk. I work, I parent, I do my best to keep functioning long enough to fulfill my last goal.

When my burden is resolved, so am I. I can’t absorb any more risk.

I wouldn’t use the term, but I’m basically there.

It was (is!) a great philosophy that lost focus when too much exposed. Society is not mentaly prepared to accept something in these terms yet. At least from the side of men, without callingvus InCelLs and WoMyN HaTeRz! (Which the sub started to atract, yes).

The sub by itself, took a tumble in direction after the 100k subs. Before it, was like a brotherhood of guys talking about hobbies and stuff.

I consider myself as MGTOW, officially for several months, when I learned the philosophy. I have been trying to implement changes in my life, specifically removing myself from female manipulation and it has been incredibly hard. Women don't like when you go your way. I have been called deluded and crazy and my mother even stated that I was cursed (as in religiously lol). I am very logical person, so when I decide on something, I just implement it and it has been drastic change, but it has also been so liberating. It's like the world started to make more sense. I attended wedding last week by myself and first time in years enjoyed myself fully. Didn't care that it wasn't me what was getting married, that there were cute girls, just enjoyed myself with other couples, friends and other single men and it was a blast. Mens Rights and MGTOW are not the same, but they both helped me so much. Females hate this movement though, because they lose power and I have witnessed the backlash, but there are also very supportive women. My sister is very supportive and understands why I changed and while she herself is divorced, she stated that she hates that all men are so mistrustful towards women, but she understands why we are like that.

I find it fascinating and honestly men need a space to talk about their dating issues. Personally I think relationships are worth it, but men should be allowed to openly discuss it among themselves. I would go in and read posts now and then and some would make think and reconsider things.

in my experience, it's great. i have no drama in my life, more money and more time is a plus.

lots of people think that mgtow men hate women, it's not the case. i just don't care. i just don't want to be in a relationship. i just want to live my life just how i want.

also people think that mgtow men is ugly/incel/broken etc, again, no. i am pretty well built with a baby face (oh the irony), make 6 figs, can easily find a woman to have sex with etc etc; but again, it's just a choice.

ofc, there are men our there they had to pick this way, that's another story but this part is important, mgtow is not about hating, it's just about loving yourself so much, you just don't want to share with someone else.

and also, mgtow is not magic. you just don't become a super deep and intelligent person because you have more time; it's up to you how you spend your time.

If we talk about the concept itself, it's not a bad thing. I mean, men choosing to live by themselves is not inherently a bad thing because the same way women can choose who they date, us men should be able to aswell.

Also, it was only logical that these movements would start. Because they are a response to feminism. Also, even if not associated with any movement, men are realizing that it's best not go get involved with women at all when they will get demonized for everything they do. And the men that think feminism is good, lack the courage. I have an example here:

But as it happens with every concept/ideology, there are people who tarnish them. There are some men in that community that, while explaining why it's better to stay away from women, they easily fall in hatred and free insults not realizing they go against the very own concept that they claim to belong too.

TLDR;

Explaining why for you it's not worth to get involved with women respectfully = good.

Using the state of women to validate your hatred and launch a rampage of free insults while hiding behind the MGTOW excuse = bad.

Here's something that may shock you. You dont actually have to hate women to be a MGTOW...

I've found that all those that hate on MGTOW are simply projecting their own hate for men onto men. That's all.

There's only one person you need to persuade when choosing to be a MGTOW, and that's yourself. Any opinions from other people on how you choose to live your life are irrelevant..

I think it's a good thing. I realized in my late 20's that all the drama, heartache, and missed opportunities in my life were caused by women. So I spent the next 10 years practicing MGTOW and getting my life into a very good place. I'm happily married now and wouldn't change a thing. MGTOW doesn't have to be a forever philosophy. Sometime men just need to ignore the relationship world for awhile to turn themselves into someone who would attract a woman of high value.

I think the issue with MGTOW is that a lot of the guys that associate themselves with that tag come across as bitter and jealous. There’s also a lot of guys that never did well with women, so it seems like the guy is giving up rather than focusing on self improvement.

Also it makes all women sound the same. The community tends to focus on the worst of women, in the same way raging feminists focus on the worst of men (wife beaters, cheaters, rapists etc).

I think the best thing is to understand female nature, accept it, and just enjoy women as they come. Don’t over invest (financial or emotional) but still be open to good times with them.

You do not need to avoid women. You need only to avoid marriage.

Make things as explicitly transactional as legally possible. If prostitution is legal make it transactional fully.

For example, the way I get very beautiful and smart woman is to just pay her for hand job first. It's a much better way to get to know each other. It's fair. She got money. I know she is willing to do me for money. She knows I will be financially supporting.
If both are happy I just repeat order her for life.

What you need to avoid is bullshit romance idea that you got to make you like you more than all the other guys. There will always be Henry Calvil and Margot Robbie. Face it. She can't get them. Nor can you. We all settle for.

Concept is good, execution is poor.

The core ideas are perfectly valid, and there are female equivalents (with different names), and there are psychological equivalents of equally different names. Love yourself, be comfortable with yourself, you do not need others to be fulfilled.

The execution left a bit to be desired. Any time I got curious about what was going on in that subreddit, i'd take a look and I'd primarily see woman-hating, instead of self-elevation. Somewhat similar to what has happened to this subreddit, in particular since MGTOW got closed down.

One of the few scummy things members of MGTOW did was repeatedly talk about how to "pump and dump women" (their words). If they cared about going their own way then they would've been giving tips on how to avoid women, how their lives were better with women being absent, and how they could help other men going through divorces to separate from their toxic wives. Instead they just insulted women and didn't do anything productive. Even original members started to complain that the sub was too heavily centered around hating women and how there wasn't enough posts about men picking other men up nor were their men posting positive aspects of their lives. (Real "MGTOW" don't call themselves by that title and don't form relationships with women (romantic or sexual).)

Guys... I have to preface this with NOBODY shouls determine their worth on whether they are alone or not. You are allowed to be alone and if it makes you happy do it.

Thats the point. At the end of the day we are all people and need and deserve support.

But this movement of being HURT and SALTY about women is super toxic and sad.

Want to know the secret? Work on yourself until you become someone people want. Personally, I am just a really supportive individual that makes people feel heard, and that's that's women like about me. I'm not overtly cute or ripped or rich. But I listen and care.

MGTOW will unfortunately exist for as long as there is imbalance in the divorce courts.

Although many MGTOW supporters can come across abrasive and sometimes ignorant the thinking behind it is somewhat beneficial for many men.

Although MGTOW teaches men to separate from women, the result is actually that it makes you more attractive to the opposite sex. Work on yourself, have hobbies, have friends, read, exercise. More importantly, stop trying to fuck women, have some self control.

A little dose of MGTOW should make a lot of guys more attractive. The trouble is a year in when they are approached by a woman they may not be in the correct mindset to move on from their beliefs.

Honestly though young guys shouldn't be taking advice from jaded thirty-forty somethings. Same with women, they shouldn't be listening to jaded older women - which is probably a good summary of modern feminism
