I do believe there is a societal effort to fuck with male masculinity, but no dating a taller , in shape woman is not emasculating that's physical attraction, now if she has those traits combined with being significantly more successful and ambitious, the guy just might be naturally a little more feminine

Women on average are repulsed by men "below" them. Men know this and tend avoid such relationships as they naturally come with higher risk of cheating, break up or divorce.

I like successful women and I like athletic women. I'm not effete I run my oen buisness project where I lead people many who are on paper more accomplished than I.

A strong body is a healthy body and that's sexy. I intrinsically don't trust or like weak people or people who prefer safety to ambition this goes for women as well.

When you make a strong woman look at you and treat you like a man, see her vulnerable and cute that's rewarding. It's like having a pet wild animal.

The most successful girl I know, dated, loved macho guys.

Also as long as they are in a different field its apples and bananas.

I know few couples where the man is intellectually focused, while his wife organizes and decides the day-to-day affairs.

I remember one wonderful elderly couple where the husband was a highly regarded historian and liked to make a joke along the lines of "my wife decides all the trivial things like what we eat, what we buy, where we live or where our children go to school . But if you're interested in something really important, like what our family thinks about Bolivian politics, ask me."

So it's not that simple with masculinity, because, for example, intelligence, logic and science can also be considered manifestations of masculinity, just less widespread.

From what I've seen taller women/ shorter men, wealthy woman / broke man dynamics are often quite insecure. Be prepared for height and wealth disparity to be brought up a lot by the woman and other people.

Your eyes notice what they are looking out for.

For example, a tall mascular finacially sucessful guy will have a shortstack youthful looking girlfriend.

And you just ignore every single "mascular finacially sucessful guy" that doesn't have such a girlfriend - not to mention, you have no idea if a guy is financially successful or not just by looking at them.

Masculinity and femininity are polar opposites and opposites attract.

Masculine men are attracted to feminine women and feminine women are attracted to masculine men. Whereas feminine men who are usually insecure are attracted to masculine women. Beta males basically.

Being fit tho is neither masculine nor feminine but having a six pack is most definitely masculine.

Modern society is in a way trying to reprogram men to be more feminine and women to be more masculine because it seems to have an issue with traditional gender roles.

Hard for me to say.

I have run into only two women who were taller than me in my life. One was a basketball player, while the other had severe self esteem issues arising from her difficulty in finding a taller man.

My guess is that it might have felt emasculating to date them.

This one is a matter of where, not if. No, it's certainly not the case in Denmark, Sweden, or Norway where height and success have always been prized in women. It's an absolute yes if we're talking Japan, South Korea etc., where these things have been traditionally seen as unfeminine. In the USA it's going to depend on sub-culture.

There could be a correlation. Insecure men will probably discard femenine women considering them out their league, and the proceed to idealize the other women.

Or...those men could value more the fact that those women have more in common with them.

It could be even that they are intimidated by feminity, no idea, honestly.

As for Japanese anime tendencies, that's mostly for younger audiences, I guess it's funny and romantic as a 'polar opposites attract each other' trope.

Possibly. I believe that everything is extremely relative and we judge our status based on whatever our environment is. For example, when I’m hanging out with certain friends, I’m the “alpha” (more charismatic, physically imposing, confident, etc than they are), but with other groups, I’m more of a “beta” because I’m outclassed by other men in the group.

I think this works with women as well. If I dated a woman who was tall, strong, financially successful, etc, then I would feel less “masculine” in that relationship. I prefer to be the “leader” in a relationship which imo entails being “superior” in at least a few different ways (bigger, stronger, smarter, wealthier, whatever).

I suppose if you don’t care about that stuff then it shouldn’t matter as much.

Depends on the man. Some find it emasculating and some don't, some do but don't care. There's nothing inherently insecure about being feminine as a man (men who are secure in their femininity may just be my weakness, but anyway). Men who are attracted to more masculine women tend to be more feminine - you're right that people fit better with complementary partners who have things they lack, although this is also true of masculine people who seek feminine partners with feminine traits they lack. There's nothing more missing in a feminine man than a masculine one. These relationships, from my personal experience, can be just as if not more healthy than the "traditional" setup, it's just a different person doing each role. (Also, masculine women pretty clearly look like actual women. If you can't tell a woman from a man unless she has long hair and is wearing pink, that's a you problem.)

The idea that being attracted to strong, accomplished women is somehow emasculating is ridiculous. It's not about compensating for what we lack, it's about being attracted to qualities that we admire and respect. And honestly, who cares if the more conventionally masculine guys tend to have more conventionally feminine partners? That's their choice and it has nothing to do with anyone else's preferences. As for the rise of 'milquetoast' guys winning over 'out of their league' women in fiction, that's just fantasy. In reality, attraction and relationships are complex and can't be reduced to simplistic stereotypes. It's time to stop policing other people's preferences and focus on our own.
