I recall reading a study that said that white men don't have a marked preference in dating asian women.

Rather, Asian women prefer very strongly not to date anyone but asians, or whites.

When white women shame white men for dating (or otherwise being interested in) Asian women, it's because the white women are scared of the competition from the Asian women, and as a result want to lash out in an attempt to protect their interests.

Rather than lashing out at Asian women, and revealing themselves as racist and self-interested, they lash out at white men.

It's an effective strategy, given how whipped and afraid of being called racist most white men are.

At this point in my life, I think it'd be creepy if I didn't date Asian women. I live in Asia. I didn't particularly have an interest in Asian women before coming here, but you appreciate what you've got on hand.

Personal romantic preferences are just that: personal. Women will try to shame men who prefer women who are not them. That's why there are attempts by overweight women to shame men who like skinny women, and attempts to shame Jewish men who prefer non-Jewish women, and black men get shamed for not dating black girls. For the same reason western women don't like "mail order brides" or men traveling overseas to find a woman. Hypergamy dictates that women can't go up from western men. There simply is no more attractive, more successful, more intelligent male out there (we're talking averages here people). So they're stuck with us, but men on the other hand aren't stuck with western women. There's plenty of attractive young women all over the world, and I don't think western women like competing with them. Competing amongst each other is one thing, but it's a whole other ball game when they have to compete with women from other nations or the whole world.

To put it into perspective, how many people have complained about black men and white women? Most of them are either racists or black women. But now that it's white men and Asian women, it's white women doing the complaining. I wonder why? Maybe women don't like women of other races taking "their" men, especially their "good men".

Seriously, who the fuck cares. People are attracted to what they are attracted to and that is all there is to it. Little can be done to control one's desire like that, it is a biological response. As long as that attraction is not hurting anyone and within the bounds of rational law, fuck the haters.

I prefer Asian women over all others for some reason. I am not a "creep" I don't leer at them, or come on to every Asian girl I see. It isn't like some magical spell we are under, I just have preferences. Preferences in the exact same fucking way that women have preferences for particular types of men. I have been with the same woman for the better part of two years and she is definitely not "feminine." she burps, she laughs when I fart, she drinks beer and eats pizza with me. Race has very little to do with how "feminine" someone is, it is all personal choice and what you're into.

A man isn't creepy for having a "type" what makes a man creepy is staring at women like hunks of meat and never taking a chance to get to know them as people, or never making a move because you're scared. If you're crazy about a woman but just look at her from a distance, she is going to notice eventually and it is going to be a little unsettling.

The problem with this study is it looks only at race and doesn't control for other confounding factors. I can assure you that the population of white, Asian, black, and latina women (and men, for that matter), are not the same population just with a different skin color (Just look up demography of the US on Wikipedia). But let's suppose we did control all those things and still found this result, well so what? People are allowed to be attracted to something for whatever reason they want, no matter how shallow it may seem, or threatening it may be to you as competition.

But let's pretend I'm wrong about that. That it is unacceptable for people to take the position that skin color or genetic background is allowed for determining attraction. Then why the heck are we focusing all our time on men like Asian women and none of our time on women liking white men? That's the other big finding from this work which is being swept under the rug in this conversation. Or are we going to say it's unreasonable for men to generally prefer Asian women, but it makes perfect sense for women to generally prefer white men? I find how we are only focusing on one side of this story way more racist than what race men and women seem to want to date.

Ok, in response to that: my list of exes.

Mauretanian ex: Demanded to be treated like sheherazade, because she was in some way related to royality down there. I attempted to, but could not keep up. We both broke it off.

White german ex: unsure of herself, constant nagging and "drama"-tests. Wanted me to change who I am. Felt more like a psychology experiment then a real person.

Latina ex: Latin temper, prone to hitting me when she got angry. Expected me to bankrupt myself for dating her. Sex was great, but yea, try explaining the bruises away. Kept quiet, because,you know, real men and all of that, just covered up the bruises untill I couldn't explain them away anymore.

Jewish american ex: had a fit everytime I did not treat her like a princess. NEVER expected to pay for shit herself. Gold digger, I assume. Wanted me to become jewish, and used herself to attempt to convert me. Didn't suceed.

Belarussian ex: just... weird.... in a bad way.

Italian ex: ..... her family, and her temper. Oh, her temper. Major arguments that ended in domestic disputes started with something like "Why the heck are you eating bacon...". Her family also habitually got involved, resulting in her brothers showing up, and asking why I made their sister cry.

Tunesian / turkish ex: Pretty great, but her family and herself viewed me as little more then "stud material", and I was pretty sure she already was eying up other people to replace me.

Norwegian ex: Daddy issues. She loved and she hated the man, and allways compared me to him. Well, never could live up to a self made millionaire who basically had spoiled her rotten, so I took my chances and ran for the hills when I had a chance.

Current GF: pretty great, not because she is asian, or looking good like a mug, but because she is sure enough of herself so she no longer has to play games with me, accepts me as I am and not for what I could be, and makes me feel appreciated. I would, and already have carried her on my hands wherever she wants to. Also possible because she is a teacup human, and I am kind of troll-size. Plus, makes it extra charming when she has to stand on a step to kiss me without me bending down... ,-) She does not give two fucks about fashion trends, attempts to keep up with my drinking at parties, but fails miserably and has to be carried home, is accident prone kind of on the same scale as Steve Urkel, is an atrocious cook, but tries nevertheless ( lost my sense of taste and smell before I met her...), and does not immediatelly look forewards to having children.

My heart has been broken so many times that I will put a ring on that, because me likey, and yes, if I have the luxury of finding someone like that, why should I continue trying to search? I could end up finding someone better, but yea.... unlikely.

Funnily enough, I have seen many profiles from asian women that specify they are only interested in white dudes.

It's a preference, considering that it is such a dominant one the odds are pretty good that it has more to do with looks than with perceived personality. But that of course must be depressing for the average woman who isn't asian and "in demand".

Well, in general, telling a woman you're interested in her because of physical traits (beyond just general attractiveness), and not her personality, makes them unhappy and labels you as 'creepy'. They like to feel special, and talking about the physical makes them feel interchangeable/disposable. Writing a woman online and saying "I want to date you because I like women with big breasts" is going to get a worse response than telling her about all the common interests you have, etc. (which you would have never cared about if she didn't have big breasts, but, you know, that's not something she needs to know).

This isn't really much different in that regard (though heightened because of race issues). Most guys understand this, but the few that don't are exactly the ones spamming every Asian girl on the dating website with messages.

This then makes them the visible group of "guys with an Asian fetish" (versus the guy who wrote to the asian girl about their mutual love of long walks on the beach), which allows articles like this one to take this, blow it up, and twist it out of context.

A number of reasons.

I have dated outside my race. I had a Black boyfriend years ago. I once married a Native man before he died and I became a widow.

I also date white men. My current boyfriend is white. I do not pick people on the basis of race.

It is different.

I don't date a man I have known for two months on the basis of his looks only because I have a weird sexual thing for his race and then run to the altar.

I don't date men who can't speak English, do not follow Christianity, or have incompatible religious, lifestyles, etc. I date men I have something in common with. Race and class were never considerations.

I won't date anyone of any race. E.g. I do not date men with disabilities, much younger than I, or single fathers, as I am not interested in dealing with them for a myriad number of reasons that would take too long to get into and are not debatable, at least for me. I do not just date outside my race without consideration of the person and what comes with that person. Or in my race without looking at the person for that matter.

I am not trying to engage in white savior complex, hero worship, or political activism by dating outside my race. (Tell that to my landlady who has 'white hero complex').

I actually pick men I have something in common with. I find them personally interesting and attractive.

I do not expect them to cook for me, pick up my clothes, raise kids I had with someone else, (I don't have any), etc. They are not my servants.

I do not troll Asian only sites online and send gross sexual messages, 'cute' comments, or weird jokes to Asian people.

I do not pick men on the basis of being 'childlike, much younger, incredibly thin, anorexic, delicate, ageless.'

I do not compare white people to other groups and claim other groups are better.

I do not give out bizarre and racist commentary like 'Asian people are this or that' in positive or negative fashion. Both are insulting to others, rude, embarrassing, and racist.

I do not fetishize Asian people or watch Asian porn.

I have an interest in cooking, acting, hiking, golf, and Indian singing. I have hobbies. I am not on a computer all day and do not do coding for a living. I have social skills and an actual personality. I can talk to people. I don't use the Internet for that.

I am not interested in coding, comic books, the tech industry, anime, or Japanese porn.

I do not order my spouses online and purchase them.

I do not attack feminism or gay civil rights due to my own failures and insecurities.

I do not blame others for my failures with them.

I do not make use of Asian prostitutes.

I do not insist on a gold-digging spouse thirty years younger than me, who wants to use me for citizenship.

I think it is okay to have hobbies and interest besides raising kids. I think people can go out alone. I am not paranoid or jealous.
