Redditors,

I don't know where else to turn. Here's the backstory:

I had a divorce 3 years ago. During the mediation of the divorce, I offered to pay an additional 2,000 a month in child support (voluntarily) so that my daughter would be well taken care of. I agreed to take care of my ex-wife to the best of my ability (pay her car payment, health insurance, max calculated child support + the 2K a month). All I wanted was to have a relationship with my daughter. To be a part of her upbringing, to be a father to my little girl.

I've been denied every overnight I was entitled to since the divorce. On my daughter's first christmas, I was told we could "spend it as a family", but on Christmas morning when I showed up, I was asked to put the toys together. I did and when I was done, I was told, "Get out." So I spent Christmas alone. This has been the case with every holiday since then. It's been 3 years and I haven't had my daughter overnight.

I am denied my ability to say good night to my daughter every night. The phone is hung up on me or my daughter is taken away from the telephone while I am speaking to her. My Ex-Wife's parents have told her "Daddy is a bad man." My daughter is being taught that people of color are bad people. Considering I'm a "person of non-Anglican descent", it's not only very disturbing, but also disgusting (even if I were Anglican). My daughter once said to me, "Daddy, it's funny to yell at you. Mommy says it's funny to yell at you."

She enrolled my daughter in a school without my knowledge. Didn't list me as a guardian even though I am my daughter's legal father (and have those rights as per the divorce decree). I had to fight with my daughter's school to get access to my daughter's records. Only to find out that she hasn't been going to school on a regular basis.

When my daughter needed to go to the hospital once, she opted to go out to dinner rather than take her to the emergency room. I get a call the next morning telling me I need to take my daughter to the hospital. She didn't even bother coming along, but rather decided to sleep in.

Whenever I see my daughter now, she immediately tells me, "Daddy, I don't want to go back to Mommy's house. I want to go night night at daddy's house." She literally has anxiety attacks over it. Once, after picking up my daughter, she immediately had a huge anxiety attack and I had to pull over to hold her in my arms. She was crying horribly and clearly experiencing an anxiety attack. She kept on saying, "Daddy, I hurt. Daddy, I hurt." As I held her in my arms, I asked her, "Honey.. Daddy's here. Where does it hurt. She holds her chest by her heart and said, "Daddy.. I hurt here." This is coming from a 2 and a half year old little girl. It's devastating.

My Ex-wife recently de-enrolled my daughter from school and enrolled her into another school without my knowledge. I only found out about it through the babysitter. (Who has since then taken my wife's side and is going to lie in a deposition.)

Fast forward to today: I can't afford to pay the child-support amount due to my under-employment, she's tried to have me thrown in jail. It's not as if I wasn't paying her, I still paid $1500.00 a month (over 40% of my monthly take home.) It still wasn't enough for her. When I finally got a small consulting job, I hired an attorney to defend me, but it has only escalated her reactions.

Many of you may think I must have done something to incur this wrath. I didn't. I never cheated, I never lied. I just worked a lot. My ex-wife just didn't understand that to provide for her and my daughter, I needed to work. I came home every night at 7-8 PM. She is bi-polar and suffers from Borderline personality disorder.

My attorney told me today that he would be withdrawing from the case if I can't come up with 15,000 dollars in a week. My ex-wife is continuing to psychologically abuse my daughter. I can't see my daughter more than 4 hours a week and I can't say good night to her.

I've reached out to all the support groups and nobody can help other than giving me advice such as, "She can't do that! It's illegal." I can't find an attorney to take this case, because I don't have the money.

I work one full-time job, continue to look for another job, but as many of you know, it's tough out there.

I'm going to lose my daughter and I don't know what to do. This was never about anything other than wanting to see my daughter and to be a part of her life growing up. Now I'm going to lose her.

I'm sorry this post isn't well-written. I'm a complete mess right now. I honestly don't know what this post was going to accomplish, but I guess I just needed to write it.

Update: I'm really surprised there is so much support for my plight. It's actually made me feel less "alone." Thank You. I'm going to turn in for the night, but I will definitely be on in the morning. God Bless you all.
