It’s not that virgins are impossible to find, it’s that virgins have higher standards not just for themselves but for the people they’re with when it comes to relationships.

So why would a woman who stayed a virgin and has followed the traditional path want a man who has slept with everyone in town? Clearly they don’t share the same values.

People don’t just match up solely on looks, they match up based on values. A traditional woman is not going to lower herself or her standards to be with the town bicycle. She would be absolutely humiliated to accept such an offer and besides she’s going to have a lot of traditional men to choose from that would have more in common with her. Just like you can’t make a whore into a housewife you can’t make a whore into a husband.

Because a lot of guys who complain about this seem to want a virgin woman who is fine with him spending his youth racking up a high notch count and they havent figured out that a lot of these women come from really religious circles who tell them to avoid guys like this like the plague. Most virgin women aren’t running around yelling “I’m a virgin!” Mainly because women get negative feedback if we’re a virgin and also if we’re not. We can’t really win so it’s best to keep it to ourselves until we are actually interested in someone.

I think some men just assume all virgins are in long shirts and long denim skirts or something. Most virgins dress relatively normal. I see more attractive virgins than plain, homely looking virgins personally. About 60/40 in favor of attractive.

A lot of men who say they want virgins also still approach like they think I’ve had sex. They say sexually suggestive comments which turn me off. I stop seeing them, and they never even found out I was a virgin because they assumed before they made a good enough impression.

the main problem with going after religious women is that you must also be religious. I don't know about you, but I am not a religious person and faking it just to be with someone and most likely getting married really fast to that person is not appealing to me.

I know a few religious couples and they go very often to church. If I were to fake being religious it would get boring really fast to wake up every sunday and go to church, pray and do other religious activities.

Then there is the "Plenty of 18 - 22 year olds actually prefer guys in their late twenties too". My simple answer is "not enough". When I was in college, it was extremely rare for women my age to be in relationship with guys in their late 20s. And a few of those women who were in such relationship were definitely not virgins.

Another thing is that you assume that her sex drive will be high. If you find a virgin woman who wants to wait until marriage to have sex, you run the risk of being in a dead bedroom situation because you have no idea about your sexual compatibility.

Lastly there is the "why obsess over virginity?" part. Look, I understand not wanting the village whore, but a moderate number of sexual partners is not a red flag. Wanting a virgin is like saying that women cannot make any "mistake" (AKA a past relationship) in their sexual lives or they are "broken".

Also, the “study” is based on girls not lying, there being no agenda, and the study not being ancient history, which by definition all studies are.

Unless you're either: super religious, a kid (18-22), or want to immediately jump into marriage, it doesn't make sense to me.

Sure sometimes you date someone in high school and they end up being the one, I think that's fine.

However I would assume anyone in their 20's or 30's has had relationship and dating experience, and would consider a lack of to be a huge red flag. I want a normal person for a long term partner, not a sexually repressed one or one who's gone completely wild either.
