Will never happen. Child support is there so that the government doesn't have to pay out social services to the parent who makes less money. It's basically a tax on you for having a child.

I wouldn't be so sure, child support seems to be quite well supported by both sides.

I think the only way child support will go away is if things change drastically and women start paying a significant proportion of child support due to more men retaining custody of their children. Even then, it's no guarantee.

Left- it's a transfer of wealth predominantly from men->women

Right- too many people (simps) think the man has a "duty" to support the woman

Both sides just promote bad behavior. I guarantee if child support went away and 50/50 custody was default, the single mother epidemic would end.

While I have a lot of sympathy for alienated fathers and I think that part definitely needs reform, I would rather they pay for their kids than I do in my role as taxpayer (I'm not a US citizen but I am sure there are a lot of US citizens who would agree with this).

I'm a decent human being (and a lefty hippie) but if Hitler himself were to come back from the grave and promise mandatory 50/50 custody in divorce (e.g. none of this bullshit about a judges discretion, fuck that noise, mandatory 50/50 unless there's a guilty verdict for abusing the kids).... Then I'd probably vote for him enthusiastically.

Now would I be naive? Yes, politicians lie all the time. Based on the analysis of the people who track this, Trump lies more than the average politician. But am I desperate enough for family law reform? Also yes.

I will vote for any candidate and contribute to their fund/campaign if the Di the following:

1 . child support laws and make 50/50 the default regardless. I understand h see circumstances there should be a change but in most cases both parents are fit. Women scream they want equal rights than they should advocate for shared parenting. 50/50 should be the starting point period, it would save ai much for people in the form of court and lawyer fees for litigation, and CS costs which affect men. And often men are alienated from their kids.

2 abolish the IRS (pipe dream I know but it’s there) and just institute a flat tax rate for everyone.

If no 2 then forgive all IRS tax debt for people making less than 150 a year and families under 250.
Better tax credits for schools and school choice. People often send their kids to shut schools and schools have a monopoly. They shouldn’t, they should compete for students like colleges do.

Edit:

Make selective service gender neutral. EVERYONE has to register. Women have no skin in the game when it comes to voting for people willing to send us off to war because they’re not allowed to be drafted. Since they want to vote and have all the privilege that comes along with being a full citizen they should ante up their bodies and lives as well. Maybe they’ll vote for people less likely to send them off to war since they don’t care I or my son would have to go

I think child support should be abolished. I think redundant depts, wasteful spending & aide to other countries should be stopped/decreased & that money should go to our children. I think all middle & lower class children should get a monthly check to help support them, so maybe they'll have better lives & enriching experiences. The nation's children benefit all Americans & we all need to help give kids a better life & we can do that without raising taxes.

I think we should end poverty with debt free money. Our money is created by a small group of elites. The money is loaned to our government & banks w/ interest. We don't need the FED & fractional reserve banking. We can have Lincoln's greenbacks again. The government prints the money, uses it to pay it's debts, send it out in the world. We don't need the bankers. Every president who understood this & fought the bankers was assassinated.

A way to reintroduce debt free money could be using it to provide for our children & poor & require all businesses to treat it as cash.
