*long ( why the fuck can’t you edit titles on this stupid site )

Inspiration for post: went out last night with some friends who know I’ve been single for years and am looking to meet someone at the moment, and after seeing me chat with women they were making well intended comments a La ‘see you can talk to women just fine!’, ‘see there are women into you!’

I didn’t bust their balls / grind the axe because they were just trying to be supportive but I had to shake my head internally

Surely by now we’ve all read of or witnessed enough stories of complete and utter deadbeat druggies being in relationships (albeit not healthy ones) or hermits or straight up weirdos who never seem to struggle meanwhile more and more desirable people are breaking the cookie cutter mould and opting to be single and career focused etc and not settling for less than what they think they deserve

No doubt there’s a correlation between social skills and singledom but it’s not some clear cut one.

This ties into how guys are gaslit whenever they express any frustration or highlight any perceived issues with courtship they get blasted and told they’re dysfunctional and most likely the cause of the problem they’re complaining about.

I digress - has anyone experienced this?
