older women aren't taking away young women's autonomy when they advise against them against something. looking out for younger people is natural and normal. i haven't seen older men do the same for young men, but that's at least partially because older woman young man relationships are much rarer than the inverse

There are plenty of cases where men/males warn other men/males of their less than optimal relationship choices and decisions, but since a lot of that is done through organizations and whatnot (for example, the military straight up have classes imploring new boots to not rush into marriage) they don't count for whatever reasons.

Also many men/males ignore those advice regardless, but the ineffectiveness of said advice/warning does not mean they don't exist in the first place.

In my experience, older women tend to be wary and protective of young men in relationships with older women too. I think after a certain age women just sort of develop a maternal mindset toward people younger than them in general.

I'd say women generally are far more involved into their close ones' problems and lives overall. I.e. if my friend has a serious issue, I'm going to hear them out and offer ways to solve it and my help as much as I can. I offered several friends to couch surf, I lent them money, I searched for apartments and jobs with them etc. It's the same with my mother and our family and her friends - if she can help practically, she will. If she's worried about someone's well-being and she can offer advice, she will.

I've noticed that men are less likely to do the same. Some assume that if one needs help/advice, they'll ask for it, others just don't want to or can't provide any help.

Of course, it's my personal experience and it heavily depends on one's social circle. As far as I remember statistically women tend to spend more time helping others in general though, so my experience shouldn't be that out of the line.

I don't think an older woman has ever intervened in my love life other than to give me advice. Older men have as well, but their advice has generally been less helpful or more dismissive. Complete autonomy is still afforded, but help is offered.

Guys have proven time after time that they aren’t helpful to other men. Men put other men down and create this “ideal man” and if you don’t behave a certain way then you’re not a man such as being emotional. So yeah, men aren’t really there for men.

When a dad gives the “talk” to a son it’s a quick talk since it’s rather avoided. Women on the other hand get coddled by men and women since that’s how society has made it. Is it fair? No. But men are also not willing to help other men nor take help since that’s not manly.

It’s less about autonomy and more abut not caring.

Women protect younger women from older men since they can see through the ruse of an older man wanting to fuck. Men don’t really jump in at all since they’d rather not put any effort. It’s kinda how when a boy gets molested by a teacher men immediately go “nice” or “lucky” jokingly. It’s sad men don’t support men or make it easier to support.

Men are more likely to warn each other in the opposite context. Like hey man be wary of that super hot young girl who's acting like she loves your 55 year old balding ass, she may be looking to take advantage of you. Romance scammers exist in both sexes but they often want different things and have opposite targets.

Men tend to trust that other men are making the best informed decisions they can be. They're the masters of their own lives, and we respect it, even if we wouldn't do the same. I cannot speak for women worrying about other women's lives.

No, I have a group of friends that are all part of the same military unit and they definitely look out for older women taking advantage of the younger guys in the unit.

Women seem to hate that and say it's misogynistic for them to tell the young man to look out for himself and not be taken advantage of, though.

I don’t think there’s a difference in caring. I think it’s more that there isn’t really a way to convey to them that they going to have a bad time. There’s a guy at my work who was seduced by a married (at the time to another guy who works at the company) woman who is a coworker. He’s a very nice young man. She is not a very nice person at all and not just by the opinion of the men who work here, by the women too. Now she’s pregnant.
