As a man you often hear that a man "just wanted sex". Implied in this is that he didn't care about the woman as a person, but just wanted to use her body. No doubt this often true. However, a woman will often use a man in the same dehumanizing way for a relationship and it's often more destructive.

To explain, there are times when you meet a woman and you can see that she is looking at you as a checklist of things she wants in a partner. The specifics of you as a person are not particularly relevant because a lot of women have don't respect men. You are a utility to them. You have a series of resources and functions she wants a man to provide, and she doesn't particularly care for the individual man that provides those things.

The reason this is WORSE than using someone "just for sex" is because it can involve losing an entire lifetime to a person who fundamentally doesn't give a shit about you. A man thinks because he was a partner that he was valued, but when he no longer provides the value he is discarded.

Because of the culture we live in women are never taught to think of this as bad in the same way men are taught to think of using someone for sex as bad. I think it honestly never occurs to most of them. They have been left to their own devices to seek out that evolution prefers.

I look forward to the calm and thoughtful discussion this is certain to elicit. ;)
