Whenever some topics like paying for dates, finding someone who matches societal ideals even if they aren't the societal ideal, or breaking up with someone over a reason that men would be told to "make a compromise for," it seems like the same thing is uttered. "Know your value, your worth is much better than that!"

Why are many women inherently believing themselves to be worth more than men? For example, here's some tiktoks,

The women mention their value being high, therefore they should be the ones being paid for, but what about the man? What do women bring to a relationship that a man doesn't bring? Isn't this a double standard?

The argument to this I usually see is that "I prefer a masculine guy who can take care of me and be a provider" which seems to be a normalized thought process and it would be fine if men weren't bashed for having the same mindset for feminine traits such as wanting a woman that is submissive and doesn't talk to any males other than him. Granted, this is not something I want in a woman. Instead, I prefer to be on the exact same grounds as her. I don't want her to sacrifice her connections or potential enjoyment to please me, but if I did, I'd be bashed for it meanwhile a woman that wants a man to sacrifice his time and money for her would be uplifted.

They don't even mention the usual argument of "whoever asks, should pay" which I believe is also another flawed argument overall because men are most often the ones asking a woman out on a date. Secondly, I don't see why the person who puts in the emotional investment to put their pride on the line and risk rejection should then also put in a monetary investment on a relationship that won't work.

In the second tiktok, the woman even talked about how there would be a free meal at least if she didn't like him, which is another reason it's kind of off putting as a guy to get into dating, even if you had a billion dollars.
