It sucks being the loyal ride or die type and finding women are just in it for themselves. I went to therapy, I quit drinking/weed, I found better employment, I took more responsibilities, I lost weight l, exercise and eat healthy. What did she do? Nothing. Why did she want a divorce? She wasn’t happy. Well no fucking shit you aren’t happy, you do nothing to make yourself happy and blame me for your unhappiness, but it’s still my fault the marriage failed…stop comparing our marriage to reality TV and romance novels and social media.

So this is not impossible, but it is very, very, very rare. Especially in the west. This comes from culture, not from love. Love isn't an emotion so much as a series of choices. Most people today will not make the hard choices when things get hard.

Forgot relationships, I mean any hard choice. Hence, we have: obesity epidemic, drug epidemic, woke / cancel culture, the oppression Olympics, near complete lack of personal responsibility, etc...

It is a rare man who is capable of being this person (are you him?) and even more rare for a woman. Then does two have to meet and choose each other.

8 billion people, they are out there, but it's not probable...

It's a two-way street. That kind of commitment requires a similar commitment on his part to be constantly trying to fix the sick/destitute/hell/bridge conditions. If he's just playing video games and expecting her to support him, he's delusional.

That's all I ever needed in the relationship. It was over when she stopped trying to make things work and I found out about the affair.

I stayed with her through a brain tumor, a diabetes diagnosis and her business failing. I would have stayed with her through anything but the cheating.

It’s a false hope for men because women don’t experience authentic romance. It’s always within the confines of him being useful, impressive in some way, and her having control.
