Especially online dating lol. Where you have the layers and you swipe (which is basically cold calling). You improve pics to increase your match percentage. Improve Openers/convos for date percentage. Once you have too many clients/matches, you become more selective.

As true as this is, I do think it's sad how business like dating has become. It's why people are able to be so cold and detatched these days because we're viewing each other as products to be sold on a market instead of people to form connections with.

To use your sales analogy, there's a reason focus groups exist. Women know what they want, and generally it's traits that make someone a suitable life partner (kindness, respect, loyalty, patience) which somehow many men think they're lying about? It's really misogynistic to think you know more about women than they do about themselves. I'll give you this business tip for free: misogyny doesn't sell well.
You should build your life with the aim of finding personal happiness and fulfillment, not with the aim of making yourself marketable to someone else. If you're so focused on creating a persona for the sole purpose of pleasing someone else, you're never going to find happiness that's not dependent on someone else, and that's not really healthy.

You are more than a product.

I'm (M36) going to say I'm a VERY AVERAGE looking male. But, this is also part of why I don't do well in the dating game. And it's basically: I enjoy a simple life.

Adventure? I mean... Sure? I guess? I enjoy being at home. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, and eating food at their place. I enjoy a couple local concerts. I enjoy karaoke.

All average things. I don't live a very 'exciting' life. Is it good for me? You bet it is. I have never been happier.
But, even if I got into the fitness game (which I probably should, not only for aesthetic reasons), I'm pretty sure I'd still struggle. Why? Because, after the gym, I may want to go home. I may want to go visit a friend. I may go want to go to a restaurant.

That's it. I enjoy a simple life. I don't want to live just to impress someone else.

I'm not complaining here. As I said: I've never been happier in my life. I'm just saying: there's some people that are aware of how the dating game works. And they don't want in. Like me. Would it be cool to share life with someone else? Of course. But, due to these circumstances, it's something I need to live with and that's it. I need to own it, and move on.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

In regards to point #1.

In marketing I learned about something called, the Indirect Voice Of Customer Data (IVOC)

It taught me that customers often SAY they will buy something, but once the product comes to market the do not.

IVOC data shows what customers actually buy or care about, leading marketers to accurately build what people will buy.

long story short: build what women respond to, not what they say they want.

This works. I was unsuccessful dating until a friend taught me this concept. Started apllying it to dating apps. Big success. Once you sort yourself out it's all a numbers game. Guys have it easier here since they can go on with rejection for longer. Girls are a bit more screwed if they don't find someone.

The main selling point is physical attraction. It's not easy to have a fking six pack for someone with some limitations (e.g. genetic related.. I can think of back pain that doesn't allow to train)

For many guys including myself, the trouble is partly connecting with the consumer (not many opportunities, Online is flooded with competitors and real life they have their guards up because they get approached so much). Even with these difficulties it’s possible to achieve connections it just lowers efficiency.

The other part is the product. While continuing to maximize the quality, there is a threshold that one reaches, the gains you make financially, physically and mentally continues but the rate is very incremental once you have done this for awhile.

Yeah but you also have clients who want a $50,000 product and offer you $2,500 for it thinking it’s fair. But yes things that provide value should hopefully sell itself (yourself) to a prospect. But even then its maintenance otherwise they may want to go shopping again too soon.

What am I doing wrong then? I'm a very good salesman for a concert venue, my boss makes it a point to let everybody know that I'm the best there. Though my dating life is abysmal. The funny thing is, one of my favorite memories was when I was selling seats to a group of really hot girls. They were all flirting with me and one was grinding up on me, I was smooth as hell the whole time. When I am not selling seats I have trouble talking to girls and I get very nervous
