As a woman, I can confirm this. I am more upfront than most girls, but often when I let it be known that I like a guy, he is shocked. I like really normal guys, the kind that hold your waist, keep you close and aren't obsessed with their looks.
I think sexiness and confidence trumps a lot of things. Find your style, allow your sexuality to permeate your being and love who you are, it will translate into confidence. π

Interesting.. NormalFemale likes normal guys.. what a crazy time to be alive! But yes, thanks for validating our self esteem!

This is why attracting women has been a struggle for me - I honestly think I'm really good looking, but girls don't so much care about that as they do confidence which is something I'm really lacking in...

Maybe spend some time just doing the stuff you want to get done in life, be fun, friendly and outgoing. Talk to anyone, girl or guy. Maybe you will find a good wing man or one of those girls will whisper that she thinks you're hot.
Thats how I like meeting guys, in groups, parties, neighbours or randomly in public. Heck, I have met quite a few guys at the grocery store! Lol

Trust yourself. Instead of asking "who am I to be attractive to such and such" start thinking "who is she not to be attracted to me?" Not in an arrogant way, just trust yourself to be yourself, whatever that is. Gotta love yourself before others will.

Accept your flaws and work on them. Meditate on them and how you can be better. Know that not everyone is going to like you. You can run game perfectly on one girl and she'll fall in love with you. The next might think you're annoying. Dont let your ego control you. Try not to let the outcome of an interaction control your emotion. Realize that you are worth something. Start making changes in your life that are incremental and compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today. Imagine a snowball starting out very small, but as it starts moving, it gets more momentum and mass. That should be you, continuously improving. Stand up straight with your chest out and shoulders back. Be proud of yourself. Women notice these things and they want a partner, either in the short or long term, that stands for something, but probably more importantly, feels they are worth something and brings something to the table that they dont have. So be proud of yourself, admit your flaws, and constantly, and I mean constantly, improve on them. If you have to, think about yourself as a character in a video game, always tweaking your characteristics. Lastly, enjoy the self change that you go through and the evolution of yourself.

Your inner thoughts show through your body language. If you're insecure and maybe self-loathing it will permeate through your body language. If you love yourself it will show through as confidence. Loving yourself is a mindset shift. It starts with silencing the critic in your head and replacing it with positive thoughts and compliments. Love yourself, flaws and all. That critic in your head does not define your self worth or worthiness to be loved.

This is definitely like 90% game and also the hardest part of game... I tell myself that I'm worth a damn and that women find me attractive but I just can't seem to really believe it deep down...

The brain needs results not words. Evidence over theory. Approach tons of girls, it just takes 1 to be into you to have that evidence. It makes approaching other girls easier.

Not true - Iβve had multiple girls like me and Iβve banged multiple girls since finding seddit and yet I still hesitate and chicken out sometimes - This proves it wonβt come from anything external
[β]iverygoodboy 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Hmm for me I just needed proof girls liked me when I first started game. AA is always going to be there no matter how many girls you bang. I found for myself approaching got a lot easier once I had results. Maybe you need to find another way

Banging only gives you short term bursts of confidence, itβs not a good long term strategy - CBT is the way

Currently struggling with this. Introverted but I push myself a lot and I still get stuck in my head. Sometimes I even get scatter brain. Girls notice this and often say that I'm too intense or serious. Often times they confuse passion for something else and I'm not sure how to convey whats going on in my head.
[β]iverygoodboy 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I used to get like this. If you get stuck you're thinking too fast and probably about her reaction. Slow down, its ok to talk slow or pause and think. Worry about what you have to say not how you want her to react.
I don't think they're getting confused, it's more likely your body language is conveying a lot of tension. Focus on open and relaxed body language. Relax your muscles starting with your chest and shoulders. You need to relax into the tension. If you're comfortable and relaxed they'll feel comfortable and relaxed.

Yea I am having problems projecting myself. Recently I stripped myself from the jaws of victory because I had all these sexual fantasies in my head and I got scatter brain. I couldn't project them because of the shame/guilt but I wanted to. The woman got really annoyed since we didn't end up doing anything.

Here's the thing: assuming you were on an early date with this woman, getting back with sexual fantasies was taking your eye off the ball.
Like there's a whole lot of social interaction that comes before sex. just like there's a sales process that happens before the sale is closed.
So while you shouldn't be ashamed of having a sex drive, getting preoccupied with sex so early, is putting the cart before the horse. This preoccupation will take your focus off the social interaction, where it needs to be and the girl will feel you being distracted.
The woman got really annoyed since we didn't end up doing anything.
In the situation where the girl wanted you to make a move, assuming you were in a place where physical escalation could happen all the way to sex (theoretically), then the preoccupation with sex and arguing with yourself, the shame, etc., were taking your focus off of her.
Physical escalation doesn't require much:

It wasn't an early date. We spent a few days together in a different city and have been friends for a long time. It was our first time seeing each other in a long time. The last time I saw her, she had rejected me. I took it kinda personally and stopped chasing her to focus on school and myself. Its kinda complicated too because we were high school friends and had a crush on each other at different points in time. She started dating someone else who was a close friend of mine at the time. Because of the distance and the amount of time since we last saw one another, a lot of the meeting was just us talking and getting to know each other all over again. She brought up her ex though which kinda turned me off but I was focusing on the moment because I knew the past didn't matter and that she was just sharing and I was just listening. I've done wayyy too much acid to take shit for granted.
We shared an airbnb and spent time by exploring the neighborhood and hanging out in cafes and record/book stores. We were invited to a jazz show and then I took her out for dinner. We also dropped acid and went to a festival the next day where I ran into a friend of hers who told me that she was dating someone back where she lived. This messed with my head for a little bit but then I realized that she hadn't brought it up so I let it go. Everything was fine except that I felt really inferior both sexually and in life when hearing her stories and seeing where she was in life. I held her at the festival and while we were sleeping. She tried to initiate sex the last morning that we were together. I told her that I wasn't ready because I felt like she would not have a good time due to my inexperience, lack of confidence, and also because I am fighting a porn addiction. I also didn't want her to cheat and be the best version of herself. She said she came here to fuck but she has also told me multiple times that if we had a romantic relationship, we wouldn't see each other again( which I think is a shit test but who the fuck says that??? ). Anyways, she said she had a fantastic time and gave me a warm hug and a peck on the cheek and said she wanted to see me again.
Anyways, with all that going on in my head it was really hard to just focus on my feelings. I mean, I flew there to see her with little expectations just hoping to have fun. I wasn't closed off to the idea of fucking but with every opportunity there was another voice in my head that said it wasn't a good idea. The thing is I find her really attractive so I think of her sometimes and there are these fantasies in my head which I felt really shameful to project once she was actually infront of me. I knew she'd be cool with it but I would feel like I'm just using her ( which is one of the fantasies LMAO ).

Out of curiosity, what did you do, and how did she reject it?

This is not bad.....

I guess it depends on how preoccupied she was with him.
But in general, tuning in and listening is a severely underrated skill. Very valuable.

I mean, wow. It's quite striking how HARD you rejected her here. And it was at least partly because you fucked yourself up by choosing to allow fear & insecurity to run wild in your head.
The thoughts in your mind can actually change your brain chemistry. And when she's talking about her life and those voices pop up telling you that you're inferior, that is altering your mind physically. This is something you do have control over, but it requires you to step in and wrestle with your own thoughts. Like, you have to have an inner debate instead of just letting fear run with the ball.

It wasn't a shit test. She literally and honestly told you that she was looking for casual sex, basically with someone she trusts.
You killed the vibe so that likely won't happen now.
The romantic relationship comment wasn't a shit test. Guys around here are often calling things out as shit tests when most of the time they're not. What she said just means that she doesn't really see herself settling down, maybe with you or in general. So if you guys even went down that road, she'd disappear. This isn't strange at all. She's being straight up with you, which is not common.

I think that in the end, something casual is not really what you wanted. I mean, good lord man, you came up with a million reasons to reject her.
I think that was an honest reaction in the end and you ought to think on how and why it happened that way.
It means, at the very least, that this is what you wanted. You didn't want a fling.

It's possible that you actually wanted a fling and were just psyching yourself out of having one with her because of insecurity.
It's also possible that you actually want sex, but in the context of a relationship.
You have to sort out with yourself which is true.

First of all, thank you for your reply. I appreciate you taking the time to hear me out.
This was more than 3 years ago. We were close early in high school ( which is when I got feelings for her ) but drifted apart since we both started dating someone else. They dated until 2nd year of college. I kept in touch with her throughout college. We went to different schools but were still kind of close to one another so we would see some movies, and concerts sometime. She always knew that I had feelings for her because I would just tell her. Then one summer, we went to see a show and the plan was that I would stay over at her place. I was 21 at the time and had just started doing drugs and was filled with lust and eager to lose my v-card. At this point, I had been chasing her for about 2 years and I was failing in school, depressed, filled with social anxiety and angst. I had 0 pickup knowledge and couldn't set a vibe for shit. Anyways, we get back to her place and are sharing a bed. I then start kissing her on the lips and she kisses back for a bit before telling me to stop. I stopped and she said that she wasn't going to fuck me. I told her that I can't chase her anymore because I have to focus on school and fixing my mental health( I would see her partying with other dudes on social media and it would drive me crazy + being new to drugs and dating etc ). I asked her if we could be FWB and she said no. I asked her if she could ever imagine us getting together in the future and she said no at first then changed her answer to maybe. I apologized to her for being a shitty friend and cut contact with her. I felt horrible and held on to that feeling for a long ass time. I thought I had really hurt her because all she wanted/needed was my friendship and it took me a long time to understand that. That was the last time I saw her before our most recent meeting.
After a year, I would message her once a year on her birthday to wish her and we would have short conversations online again. I don't know if this is right or wrong but my perspective is that no grudge should last forever. Earlier this year, she invited me out west to a show that we had seen 5 years ago and this was our most recent meeting. I asked her about our previous encounter and she said that she just thought it was awkward and that I took it way too personally and I agreed.
She brought up her ex though which kinda turned me off but I was focusing on the moment because I knew the past didn't matter and that she was just sharing and I was just listening.... I guess it depends on how preoccupied she was with him.
Well they dated for a long time and I knew him before I knew her so I always feel weird whenever I see her. It feels like breaking the brotherhood oath even though I haven't talked to him or seen him in years. I think at some level she knows this too because she was telling me how he slept with one of her close friends from home. She only brought him up once.

Its true although I didn't even intend to reject her. I was meditating every morning and was just trying to be in tune with my feelings and the moment. There was an inner debate going on but it was more about what kind of person I want to be. I don't want to be someone who is always trying to get into her pants everytime I see her( since our previous encounter was when she rejected me ) and I don't want to be a dude who fucks a friend's ex but its been so long and I don't talk to him anymore and my feelings for her are pretty strong so I felt really lost. I know that thoughts can alter brain chemistry and I stayed really positive the entire time but honestly hearing her experiences dropped my self esteem. I didn't think that I could give her pleasure through sex due to my inexperience( I'm still a virgin ) and porn addiction. I honestly thought that bad sex would ruin the trip. I really psyched myself out - I kinda regret this now.

I guess sex is different to different people. I still don't get how casual sex isn't romantic. Isn't sex all about setting the mood and being in the moment which is inertly romantic even if it is just for a short time? As for settling down, towards the end of our time together she said that she eventually wanted to get married because we were talking about where we would be in 10 years. She brought it up herself and I was quite surprised because I like you was thinking that she wouldn't settle down.

Its been 2 months and I've been thinking about it almost every day. The first few days were soo rough. I definately wanted a relationship with her because I enjoyed having her around and I told her that I wanted to see her as we grew older. The thing is I've known her for too long, and we have a very deep connection. The only thing we haven't tested is our sexual chemistry. We both have rhythm but the question is is it the same/complimentary rhythms? Its weird because I'm only like this with her. Any other girl and I don't think twice about anything. I feel kinda bad because my other interests don't have this much intensity. But at the same time, I'm ok now and I don't know what I was so scared of so I kinda regret not fucking her because we were celebrating many years as friends and it would have been a really special way and special person to lose my v-card to. Not to mention fireworks. Don't get me wrong - it was still very special and we made love just in different ways like eating good food and listening to good music and cuddling etc. But shes gone now anyways (we live on opposite ends of the continent)even though she said we'd see each other again.
I also ran into her friend at the festival and she told me that she was dating someone. This really fucked with my head( i was on acid ) but then I thought to myself that it wasn't brought up between us and her friend's information is none of my buisiness. But still though multi dimensional relationships are fucking weird. My friends say that it doesn't matter whether I fucked or not. A lot of things aren't in my control and they are really proud that I flew out west to see and spend time with her. It was also kinda healing.
yea idk man - weird summer for sure

Aw man..... She might not have said so directly then or now, but you were really close to sex.
She asked you to stop and you did, that was good.
She said she wasn't going to fuck you and while you needed to take that seriously, I have to say, EVERY TIME I have ever heard that, I got laid, often in the same night. Really, what this sort of phrase means is that they need to just chill out for a minute.
Now, they may not want sex, but often, if you're cool and comfortable and just stick to whatever level of physical escalation was okay with her before she said she "wasn't going to fuck you," then chances were good that she would have felt comfortable seeing a mature response to the rejection, and would have changed her mind.
Not 100% certain, but there was still a good chance at this point.
I told her that I can't chase her anymore because I have to focus on school and fixing my mental health
By responding this way, you killed it. You assumed her pause was a complete and utter stop.
I asked her if we could be FWB and she said no. I asked her if she could ever imagine us getting together in the future and she said no at first then changed her answer to maybe. I apologized to her for being a shitty friend and cut contact with her.

You unintentionally turned it from a "wait, hold on" sort of moment, into a rejection when it wasn't originally going to be.
You can't just ask someone to be FWB. You have sex first and then tell them that you are only available for casual sex.
You can't ask if someone sees a future with you. That's not a thing you can ask and get a meaningful answer. It's the sort of thing you have to explore by doing. You were making things awkward by trying to get her to answer before she had the information to tell you the answer.
But I guess you know this by now..... :( Hindsight is 20/20, no? Try not to be too hard on yourself. We all have stories like these.
Well they dated for a long time and I knew him before I knew her so I always feel weird whenever I see her. It feels like breaking the brotherhood oath even though I haven't talked to him or seen him in years.
Yeah, I hope you let go of this, because it's a bullshit concept, this idea that a woman belongs to your buddy if he gets there first.
People don't belong to people. And while it makes sense to play nice and be considerate to your buddy, ultimately, if that buddy isn't dating her anymore, then there's absolutely no reason you couldn't date her, provided you felt alright with it.
There was an inner debate going on but it was more about what kind of person I want to be. I don't want to be someone who is always trying to get into her pants everytime I see her( since our previous encounter was when she rejected me )
There was an inner debate going on but it was more about what kind of person I want to be.
I don't want to be someone who is always trying to get into her pants everytime I see her( since our previous encounter was when she rejected me )
I feel like part of this debate should be that it's bullshit to be worried about this point.
That time when you were rejected, you over-reacted and interpreted it as a rejection when it really wasn't, not at first.
I don't want to be a dude who fucks a friend's ex
This REALLY shouldn't matter for shit. At all. Once he's an ex, it shouldn't matter.
So what, because this guy had sex with her or dated her, NONE of his friends can go there, even if there's compatibility? No.
He doesn't own her. And if he were really a friend, he'd want both his ex and his friend to be happy.
End of story.
.....my feelings for her are pretty strong so I felt really lost.
On the other hand, this is kind of the most important thing. She has communicated that she doesn't want anything romantic with you.
You seem to be indicating that just casual sex won't cut it for you here with her.
So you're done here. That's it.
I know that thoughts can alter brain chemistry and I stayed really positive the entire time but honestly hearing her experiences dropped my self esteem. I didn't think that I could give her pleasure through sex due to my inexperience...
I mean, the point is moot. You want more than sex, based on everything you've said. If you had a fling with this girl, it would suck for you.
But also, you claim that you stayed really positive the entire time, but you didn't. You allowed a steady stream of negative thoughts to circulate in your head when she was talking about her experiences. You entertained those circulating thoughts, rather than paying closer attention to HER. So you could still benefit from debating yourself internally when those sorts of self-doubts come up.
Also, if you worry about being a virgin, this isn't a big deal, actually. Some girls get off on de-flowering virgins and teaching them.
But also, it's not about experience, so much as it's about attitude in the bedroom. A lot of guys have experience but still suck ass in bed because they think all girls are the same.
So, what you do is study up on sex, and enter the bedroom with little to no assumptions about her body, ready to explore her body curiously, and you'll be fine. Great, even. (Study different sexual positions, the two different male and female orgasms, where her clit is, oral sex, foreplay, etc.)
I guess sex is different to different people. I still don't get how casual sex isn't romantic. Isn't sex all about setting the mood and being in the moment which is inertly romantic even if it is just for a short time?
Nope.
Sex is not about love or romance necessarily. To people who are actually casual, it's literally just about the pleasure, and NOT at all about romance.
Setting the mood, sure, but that's nothing to do with romance. Sure, it might include not treating someone like a notch on the bedpost, but there's a huge difference between a passion and tenderness.
As for settling down, towards the end of our time together she said that she eventually wanted to get married because we were talking about where we would be in 10 years. She brought it up herself and I was quite surprised because I like you was thinking that she wouldn't settle down.
Doesn't mean she sees you as the one she'd settle down with.
She literally said romantic wasn't an option for the two of you. Casual was, but you've torpedoed that twice now so I wouldn't think it's coming up again. It sounds like a terrible thing to pursue with her, honestly.
7
The thing is I've known her for too long, and we have a very deep connection.
Friendship is a possibility, even though the romantic thing isn't. The confusing thing might be that male to male friendships don't usually have such a high level of emotional intimacy as what girls are often used to.
The only thing we haven't tested is our sexual chemistry.
I mean, you did test this when you made out. Just because penises didn't go inside of vaginas, doesn't mean that you didn't test your physical chemistry. That starts before penetrative sex happens.

I was introverted when I was young.
After I moved away on my own, I actually learned that I'm a really cool well balanced chick and love making new friends. I can be extroverted on occasion but still have trouble getting stuck in my own head too.
I think it's just about finding out who YOU are and what you want outta life. If you want a new sexy blonde gf, make it your mission and go get her. Don't give up until you get what you want. Determination is the best way to get anything you want in life.
[β]Studyr3ddit 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks! I tend to over think and burn out whenever I'm on an extroverted streak. I try to re-invent myself but sometimes I don't like doing something because of the shame/guilt. For example, when I was a teenager I used to flirt with my gf at the time a lot and it would be really seductive. My parents found out and beat the shit out of me. Now I just feel gross talking or acting like that even though thats what I want internally. Recently it kinda hurt one of my relationships because I couldn't be the man that I wanted to be with the woman that I was with.
[β]NormalFemale 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh, my, I'm so sorry to hear that. That was a really shitty thing for your parents to do. Continue working on yourself, your past might mold you, but only you can decide who you really are.
[β][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Be happy to be with the girl and be your weird self. Just say, fuck it, I'll do and say what I want.
That's where the confidence comes from. To be comfortable with yourself and be sassy or quiet or loud or weird or whatever but just be you. And that's sexy
[β]Studyr3ddit 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I'm confident and comfortable everywhere outside and inside the bedroom. Its only when its time to get intimate and take things to the next level when I choke.
[β][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I see. It takes time, keep being gentle to yourself and patient. You'll be able to feel comfortable being intimate with more experiences in life and welcoming all them as just that, expΓ©riences to learn from. Best of luck

[β]NormalFemale 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Attractiveness is not always what ppl think. A girl may really loooove your eyes or fall in love with your penis, lol. Women are funny that way.

A girl may really loooove your eyes
Look guys, this is a woman proving to us that eye contact is what gets them :)
(Hi NormalFemale, allow me to translate your thoughts onto the male language :D )
[β]NormalFemale 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
You go! It's true. Eyes are sometimes the sexiest thing about a guy.
Is there any truth in that women regardless of attractiveness should be receptive to cold approaches because they typically have to wait for guys to make a move?
[β]NormalFemale 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, I believe the majority of women would be receptive. As long as your approach is polite. There's been many times, I was hoping a guy would approach me, but he just seemed oblivious to my clues. I have also approached men and I know it's hard to get over that first line but once you do, it gets easier.

This is the reason why working on your physical appearance matters. It's not really for the ladies, it's for you. It's for you to be satisfied with your personal appearance. You need that if you're gonna believe that you're physically attractive and behave accordingly. Nobody who is severely overweight for instance can convince themselves they're sexy, even if they get laid.
The lucky among us are born good looking and/or with natural game and get that mindset from tons of women giving them the right feedback. Many of them even become dependent upon it, like narcissistic supply. The rest of us have to cultivate that, and we do that by putting our best foot forward.
A lot of mistakes and shortcomings both in your game and in yourself can be overcome simply by accepting yourself and having nothing to prove. Then you're naturally non-needy and don't chase women. This is actually one big advantage men have over women. Female game is all built around getting men to react, so if she can't get reactions out of you, you instantly set yourself apart. This actually gets women into trouble because they'll chase themselves into one-sided relationships.
There was an episode of Community where Britta was going full junkie over some ex of hers that was a carny, and Jeff got obsessed with trying to figure out why a carny of all people was irresistible to women. And the secret was that due to a brain injury, he felt no shame. He had nothing to prove to anyone or himself about anything. And it drove women nuts because his behavior oozed unnaturally high self-esteem.
I agree that physical fitness effects your self esteem positively. It is also awesome for your health, longevity and your skin. But do it for yourself not to just look good to attract partners.

Females donβt need game. It can help for them to know how to flirt but being a female is easier. You can just sit there and get hit on by guys and then pick which one you want.
[β][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They doesn't mean they get hit on by the guys they want, so it's actually useful for them to know game too.
[β]misterandosan 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Girls don't always get quality partners from sitting around all day waiting for someone to fall into their lap. No one does
[β]NormalFemale 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I disagree. I think women need to start learning more how to approach guys. Men always say they love it when a woman hits on them. It takes the pressure of off men having to do this all the time and then women don't just sit there waiting for Mr. X to come talk to her.
There's nothing wrong with bringing some more equality into the "game". It is almost 2020. Maybe in 10 more years, women will learn to just walk up to the man she wants and say, hi, I think you're really cute, you wanna dance?
And that's why there is more women on this subreddit. Cuz we are trying too.
[β]NewtypeJ -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Getting hit on by a girl is weird. They come at you in the most sexual way possible, I mean, thatβs probably because they donβt know game, but Iβm fine with it staying that way (not sexist, just old fashioned). Iβm sure there are plenty of guys on here and some girls apparently that will agree. I remember going out to a gay bar a little while ago, for guys that have never been, grab your wing or lesbian friend and go. You will get so many women so easily, especially if youβre in shape. Anyway, while I was waiting chilling by the bar, a woman in her early 30s approached me. She started talking about fluff (something similar to what I would do) and then she bought me a drink (ha), I felt like a girl for a minute. She asked me if I was straight and when I replied that I was she instantly started kino but it was awkward. She wasnβt super attractive so I did what any girl would do thanked her for the drink and went back with my friends. To this day, I think about when Iβve been hit on by girls and I can honestly say itβs been weird every time. Compliments are on thing but straight up attacked is another. To any girls reading this, feel free to compliment the guy you like but donβt pursue him.
[β]NormalFemale 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I'm not sexual when I hit on a guy. But I have seen women do that. I have also had guys do the same thing to me, hey, babe, you got really nice tits. It goes both ways, there are the gentlemen and the creeps. Same with women.
What would you prefer a woman use as an opener? And how do we progress things so we get a date? Without appearing like we are pursuing him... Enlighten us.
[β]NewtypeJ 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Women opening with compliments would have a better success rate then men doing the same to women so that should work. Although I must point out, the majority of women donβt want a herbivorous man. Most donβt want to be the one pursuing and if you prefer it over having men approach you, youβre definitely the minority. Thatβs not a bad thing. I agree with you when you say men and women can be creepy. Actually I tend to find more male creeps than their counterpart, so thatβs a thing. I think thereβs a system that works and has been around for a long time. Be nice to a guy and give him attention, he will fall for you. If he doesnβt, heβs either a player/PUA and heβs only concerned about sex (at that point itβs your choice if you still want him) or he just doesnβt like you, or any women for that matter.
Makes in LTRs are a different story, I know a particular woman who has wrecked many homes by sleeping with married men. Iβm gonna assume you donβt do that but theyβre out there. Thatβs also a possibility. Males are straightforward and we go for the easiest route possible (you can probably figure that out just by reading guys comments on here). The easiest route is when we donβt have to worry about game, social cues, or bromath (text a girl this many times, wait an hour to reply because she waited 30 mins, or she smiled at me twice so I have to wink at her once). The best thing I feel you can do as a woman who wants to pursue men is to almost hold their hand through the exchange. Warning This may attract nice guys.
[β]NormalFemale 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I like nice guys
[β]NewtypeJ 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Things are starting to make a lot more sense. Your tastes are your tastes. I just want to point out thereβs a difference between a good guy and nice guy. A good guy is honest about his intentions and comfortable in his sexuality and testosterone. They donβt shy away from conflict and the pursuit of women is fun for them. They are confident and focused and generally more successful. This isnβt saying they arenβt emotional, but they let their emotions drive them to success. Nice guys donβt do that. They spend all day trying to please others which means that their focus is on people liking them. Since they spend so much time on that, they likely feel unfulfilled and unhappy. They are unable to stand up for themselves and generally get walked over by guys with a more alpha personality. The main thing to take from this is that nice guys arenβt really nice. They make up a nice facade because they think it will make women like them. If the woman doesnβt (i.e. most women) they will become sour and start calling her a βbitchβ or worse. Iβm going to leave this at that. I commend you for being willing to go against societal norms and actively date betas (nothing wrong with that, betas are necessary for a healthy society, I donβt even consider myself as an alpha male). Actually since I know that, I can answer you question better. Apply all advice that guys use on this subreddit and youβll get any nice guy. Theyβre for the most part, effeminate so it should work the same way.
Haha, I like nice normal good guys. It is just adjectives, don't read too much into it. Alpha males are sexy, but they usually offer 0.00 compromise and 0.00 husband type relationship potential. Of course, this is just generalization just like you have been doing all along.
When I meet a nice good normal guy that is a demon in bed, stands up for himself, but compromises and allows me to be who I am in my career and my personal goals, then I will marry him immediately. Until then I will enjoy my single life.

I actually don't mind it. Sure, things might get a little more difficult if women step up their game, but I think in some ways it might actually make things easier.
Most people don't realize it, but your average woman has very weak game. They might read people better and have better social skills than your average guy, but I've had multiple situations where a girl has shot herself in the foot, and she knew it and I knew it. And many more beyond that, where a woman just got in her own way.

It isn't gay to tell a guy "cool shirt bro" or "damn, lookin' good."

Very useful and very accurate.
As someone that lifts (and I feel most of us that lift care a lot about our physical appearance just because we have started to invest so much more into it as a hobby) even though statistically and realistically I am better off and more attractive than most others, I never necessarily feel it or at least don't feel it as a point/advantage in my corner/arsenal because it never really gets told by others.
I generally go out of my way to tell my guy friends if they're looking good, more yoked, more lean etc etc.
It definitely adds a subconscious layer of confidence, ESPECIALLY if it happens regularly, which unfortunately for guys it doesn't.
[β]Princesitaness 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Agreed. I mean I can appreciate a conventionally attractive man but I also like little things like having a cute smile or laugh. It's really interesting that guys won't compliment each other. I try to do this as much as I can to my friends. We, as men, need to get over this mentality that caring for each other and showing it is taboo. I always compliment friends on little things like a nice watch or shoes or cologne or whatever. Even if it isn't my taste, it's worth it to add to their confidence. Especially when going out.

I just realized this the other day, I (16M) work as a cashier and the other day, I had a pretty cute girl come through my till who I thought was around my age. We talked and flirted a bit but ended up just carrying on with my job and her day. Fast forward a couple hours and she comes back, with a friend. We get to talking and a bit more flirting this time, at the end of it I was like "I better not see you a 3rd time" and she just laughed and blushed as she walked away. Fast forward half an hour and she comes back but with another friend and she hands me the receipt from the previous order and on the back was her phone number. Anyways I ended up texting her and she found out I was 16 and I found out shes 18 so we just decided to be friends because she didnt feel comfortable being with a 16 year old (totally understandable). That was a HUGE confidence boost!
TLDR: cute customer at work gave me her phone number without me asking

Yesterday I was feeling kind of down because I was thinking that girls usually don't have a crush on me. I'm really bad reading signs but in the past few years no one has never told me "Hey, my friend likes you" or "I like you". I'm not unattractive by any means. I consider myself to be a great guy. But from time to time this kind of things get to you because they ignite feelings of loneliness and self loathing. But it is impossible for a guy to not be desired by at least one girl. Perhaps it is the fact that you don't specifically know who is attracted to you what causes discomfort. What I'm aiming for is mutual attraction between me and the girls I'm genuinely attracted to (this has not been the case in the last few years but you got to deal with it and move on). If you are feeling down keep your chin up, buddy!
To OP, this post may change the perspective of some people in need of help. You did a great job.

But unfortunately, this isn't true for us all. I would bet my fucking life that NO ONE finds me attractive. My success rate at even receiving response on online dating apps over, say, the last 5 years, is literally in the single digits. And that's just getting a response at all. This sounds dumb but I even had to remove all of my real life pics off of Facebook because I was getting random messages and comments about how ugly I was. It's so fucking weird.

I have lots of friends. I'm not some shut in that lives in someone's basement. I have a decently active social circle, am generally well liked, etc. Its like people just dont see me as anything more than a friend or some nice, lovable guy to hang out with. That's why I have to assume I'm just legitimately ugly. I think I have a pretty decent personality, I'm a smart guy, I try to keep things interesting, I write and play music, etc. I'm fully convinced 98% of my issues are my looks.

The other day I went to a coffee shop with my cousin to talk and help me get over my ex girlfriend. There were a group of young women at another table. After we left he was telling me" dude, did you see all those women? they were totally checking you out!" and I was like "no". Maybe I was still to upset about what my girlfriend did to notice.
