I got a little choked up when my ex died, and shed a tear in front of my current gf. A single stoic, hyper-masculine tear so manly it swaggered down my cheek like Mick Jager. How you'd expect a statue of a Roman general to cry. She pretended it didn't happen.

I cry in front of my wife as much as I need. She loves that I can express myself freely. In her yes based on her upbringing, men go through the same struggles as women and they deserve love and respect.

My ex found it emasculating. In her eyes, based on her upbringing, macho men shouldn't cry. That's one of the reasons she's my ex.

Both types of women exist. You know which one to avoid.

It’s not a continual practice but I have in the past: sad movies, death, random panic attacks. It was no big. I was comforted and we moved on with our days.

I've cried to my wife numerous times, and a couple times to other exes.

One ex was supportive but wasn't sure how to handle it, one was toxic and would use it against me during fights.

My wife is the most understanding and loving human being I've ever known. She's never made me regret opening up. I'd be lost without her support.

The only time I ever full-on cried in front of a woman was when my (now ex)-girlfriend told me that she loved me for the first time. I was a really late bloomer in that I lost my virginity at 26 and didn’t have my first girlfriend until I was 27. It was the first time I’ve ever had a woman (who isn’t related to me, like my mom or grandma) tell me that she loved me. I genuinely felt unlovable for the longest time, since I was totally invisible to girls and women all throughout my teens and early-to-mid-twenties. Hearing a woman I loved say “I love you” was just emotionally too much to process in that moment, so I started to cry.

When I started crying, she was very confused—naturally so. I told her that she was the only woman who actually loved me (besides female family members, of course). She then hugged me and held me, and we just stayed like that for a solid 10-15 minutes as I sobbed into her bosom. It was very comforting, but also rather embarrassing. Lol

I don’t cry, in general, but I’d save that shit for my boys. I’ve been there for them during some real dark shit and they’d do the same for me.

Not that I don’t trust my wife, but every woman’s threshold for that kind of stuff is both ever changing and unknown.

One was fine and comforted me and did not seem to really hold it against me but when I showed weakness in another area she started to do the thing women do where they slow fade you and then break up with you. Another I showed weakness one time and then proceeded to do a slow 7 month withdrawal with nothing I could do about it and I was naive enough to think she was different because I had known her for so long.

I'm done putting up acts now about my problems, if women don't like it as the guy said from Robocop "Bitches leave!". A fair bit less success with women but the ones who stay tend to be worth my time.

No pill. A few years ago at thanksgiving,y dad handed me the carving knife and said “I think it’s time that I hand this over to you” and we both got a bit choked up over it. My wife and mom were also emotional too.

Many times. I’ve shown myself emotionally in front of her many times. She comforts me when I cry and is very tender and gentle. She’s very warm and caring and tender, she strokes my hair and holds my head to her chest like I’m her son

Last time i cried in front of my gf was when i was overwhelmed with positive emotion for realizing she had just overcome a large part of her lifelong struggle with generalized anxiety disorder. I cry about once every two years or less. She was touched by it and expressed how she was happy and proud, that i could show my emotions like that and especially for that reason.

Other girlfriends were also really appreciative of me crying, as it happens super rarely (moreso out of joy, less times out of negative feelings or being overwhelmed) and showed them that there is an emotionality to me that is usually kept behind a rational, calm and composed curtain. If have more issues with women assuming i don't feel enough and me not being able to "show" them that i do in fact feel but just don't express it like they can understand/are used to. So crying is like a proof to them i am indeed not a robot and they can connect with me on that emotional level.

As with everything, the level/intensity/reasons of crying, together with the general personality is what makes specific women like or dislike crying in men. A rational guy who is stoic 99% of the time will not have an issue with crying in front of his gf from time to time.

I've cried in front of all of my partners. But I am very particular about who I spend my time with and don't date people if I don't think they're kind.

I've never had a negative experience for sharing how I felt - the stigma seems exclusive to people who have low standards and don't bail when the people they hang out with exhibit warning behavior.

I’m not really much of a crier; but my missus has definitely seen me in tears at a few funerals. It was fine.

I one cried in front of an ex. She tried to be supportive in the moment but was incredibly awkward about it. I think it was the first time she’d ever seen a grown man cry.

Early in our relationship I got hammered one time and cried in front of my girlfriend. Despite having a pretty rough childhood and life I take care of myself and have no issues. I cried while telling her that it sucks that I won't ever be able to find someone without a ton of issues (she was suicidal, cutter, etc).

She occasionally reminds me about it in a teasing way, and says that it showed her I'm human.

I have not cried in 19 years. I think im unable to at this point. Definitly expressed sadness to her though, or problems. I will say I never got laid after it though. Shevwants to help sometimes but its also a turn off, no matter what they say.

Then I taught myself to cry on demand, and if I feel a little emotionally distressed, I can just come up with an excuse to leave the field of view for a couple minutes.

I got mocked by my military superior for crying, and even that felt kinda friendly and understanding. With women, the results vary from vile mockery to shouting. So, I prefer not to test the grounds anymore.

maybe once or twice. crying is weakness and makes people respect you less. I'm a bleeding heart liberal blue pill and I've always grasped this pretty intuitively. are there actually straight men who don't?
