One thing I've found really really weird as I get back into the dating pool after being in a LTR for 3 years is the weird reality of father/daughter enmeshment. A LOT of people are aware of men who are overly attached to their mothers, and imo it's pretty well spoken about. Men and women alike cringe when a grown man is way too attached to his mom, however, I don't EVER hear anything about father/daughter enmeshment/extreme attachment.

Both father/daughter and mother/son enmeshment cause SEVERE damage to the person whose dating the enmeshed child and the romantic relationship they have with them. I've experienced it myself in a recent relationship and it's absolutely gross seeing as the parent is taking on the child as a surrogate spouse.

Why is father/daughter enmeshment not talked about as much in society?
