If the kids have everything they need BEFORE the child support money is included, that means the mother is paying for all those needs out of her money. The father should be responsible for half the children's needs.

The mother can then spend her money that she's not using to pay for the kids needs as she likes just as the father does with his money, I see no issue as really most child support payments don't really pay for half the kids needs on top of not even being paid in full anyway.

There is no functional difference between she pools hers and his money for the kids and spends her own on herself vs she pays for the kids and waits for his money to take care of herself.

If anything it's more selfless this way. The kids are taken care of 100% but in the likely event there's an issue with child support the kids are still covered. You go mama!

Even if it is, that's not "child support" anymore, she shouldn't be getting it if the kids don't need it in the first place.

Anyone who needs child support to ‘fund their lifestyle’ is fiscally incompetent. One of the first lessons I learned, is pay yourself first. At least fifty percent of one’s pay should be saved and invested. If one can’t afford that, then they should not be living a lifestyle that needs ‘funding’. What an incredibly stupid attitude towards money.

And while we're at it: Sure, you can make the moral & legal case that the money is up for her to spend however she wants, but keep in mind the optics of doing so. Cases like this erode the necessity of child support payment system and makes the recipients as a collective look bad.

But then again I believe (based on previous thread on various topics you have made) that you're not a fan of collective responsibilities, obligations, or entitlements. So at least you're morally consistent.
