Have any other men in this community had to deal with your STBEx filing for full legal custody out of the blue? While I know that it needs to be in the child's best interest for a single parent to obtain full legal custody, I'm trying to wrap my mind around what grounds my STBEx would have to remove legal custody from me. I can understand primary physical custody, as I am working an extra job in anticipation of the pending child support payments and to try to stay in my home as long as possible, but the legal custody is what is throwing me. Are there other reasons, aside from being able to make all decisions unilaterally, that the mother would request full legal custody? Or is that just a basic starting point open to negotiation? I've never done anything to put my child's wellbeing in question, at least that I'm aware of. Any insight into possible motives would be greatly appreciated!
