To add more to my question. I’m wondering if there are men out there who are interested in being the primary provider for a house hold, while the Mom is the primary caretaker. Obviously we live in an economy where a single income usually isn’t enough. So I understand that being a fully SAHM is tough. I just mean a man who views his role as the MAIN provider and where the Mom would be able to be with the children from birth-school age.

For more context on “healthy amount of emotional intelligence”. I don’t mean like the perfect listener, who always says the right thing, who’s never angry. I understand that’s not realistic. I just mean a man who’s willing to have empathy, have hard conversations, talk about feelings and emotions, reflects, takes accountability. No one can be perfect all the time, I know I can’t. I just mean someone who can grow and talk.

But is this kind of man a unicorn? Can there be masculine provider type men who also can also see that communication and emotional intelligence is important?

Thanks for reading and giving me insight!
