- Andrew Tate

I wouldn't say the pills are inherently political. It's more that politics and dating-politics often come from the same sources: values and worldview.

The manosphere disproportionately attracts men who embrace, or wish to embrace, certain traditional values and perspectives. A big selling point is the promise to show you how to do so better in the modern era, as well as providing a sense of community to those who feel alienated from progressive social norms. There is also, understandably, an echo chamber effect.

The blue pill operates similarly, on the other end of the spectrum. But the effect is much weaker, in large part because the blue pill is not an intentional, self-referencing thing in the first place. No one even calls it blue pill, except people who spend a lot of time among red pillers. And even them, it's mostly a conciliatory gesture to indulge conversation.

Of course they have a political aspect. Even though the manosphere contains highly anti-women content, its most interesting side is its economic narrative. What I mean is, the real common denominator among men who look favorably at Tate is that they are experiencing economic disillusionment. Tate promises success, money, and confidence to people who are economically anxious (and consequently unhappy regarding partners). And along with that, they will get access to women. Of course, you also need Jews (feminists) to blame.

In other words, since money is never separated from politics, the political direction becomes inevitable. Sure, the proximity of the manosphere to conservative/alt-right/fascist parties might seem absurd. Are they going to provide financial support like socialists do? Unless they are looking for a new Kristallnacht, how can they satisfy unhappy men economically?

I can accurately describe various viewpoints, and have steelmanned their arguments at various points.

In the end this basically comes down to getting past the extremes of 60s social constructionism and progressive utopianism on various fronts, including gender and mating. And yes, these ideologies were originally a response to inaccurate beliefs that went too far in the other direction.

I think the West is coming out of a leftist ideological fog on many of these issues. Naturally, the pendulum has a tendency to overcorrect in the opposite direction. But the task now is to restore more of a factual basis to these discussions. The balance between nature and nurture is always tricky to parse perfectly; there is room for a lot of honest and good faith debate on most of these issues. Still, first the Overton Window has to accept more genetics and biology based 'bitter' pills.

Blue to Red: Things mostly work out for most people and trying to articulate why requires a strange mixture of luck, nature, and nurture.

Good Red to Blue: Men have problems which are a result of sexist systems and deserve care and consideration too. And this does not require mistreating women.

Bad Red to Blue: For the men things don't seem to be working out for, more is going to be required to make it work out including adaptions and modifications similar to special ed.

Black to Everyone: You know those days where you feel like everyone hates you and you're ugly and nothing good will ever happen to you? Yeah, that's every day for me and I'm not sure how to not have a day like that because I feel like I've tried everything and nothing has worked and I'm beginning to believe I'm cursed. And any time I say this people tell me to get therapy like those people have the power to lift curses. And I think I may just need someone to genuinely hug me and tell me it's going to be OK, but I'm worried even that wouldn't work and it's literally my last fucking hope at this point.
