When people cite events that made them blue, they often blame Disney movies or parents’ influence during childhood. Citing events in adulthood is more unusual.

It’s also common for people to write about an incident that pushed them toward the _red_ pill. I could certainly write such a story about myself (it would involve a bad breakup; many rejections; I was worried that other men were more dominant than I was; social isolation; I read a lot of PUA stuff online.)

In this post, I’m curious about events that pushed you toward blue pill (or away from pills altogether) during adulthood.

I'll first give some examples about myself. For me, there have recently been a series of such events:

  1. I recently suffered a serious setback with my work. A loss of status / dominance. Everyone still liked me. Some people almost seemed to like me even more.
  2. I had some conversations with friends where I was overly concerned with demonstrating my own status. In a subtle way. And it didn’t work very well. I came to feel that concern with status had been a pattern for me since finding RP. I had a fear that I lost one of the friends because of this.
  3. I had a conversation with a feminist friend. It was a good conversation. I’m not exactly sure why this conversation had this impact on me, since I can recall another conversation with a feminist that had the opposite effect.
  4. I wrote a post on PPD where I talked about strategies for getting relationships without relying on dominance. Some people said this post was really just RP, others that it was really BP, others that it had no pill. In any event, what made it BP for me was that it wasn't about “putting down” women in one’s own mind in order to enhance one’s own status / dominance.
  5. I know someone whose personality is quite different from what RP wants, and he found a really strong relationship anyway.
  6. I think MeToo had some influence on me.
  7. I read some books about having positive interactions with people.

How about you? Any events during adulthood that made you more blue?
