Question for RPW: Why are you against feminism?

I'm purple pill, but I'm definitely against the modern feminism you see being pushed in the last few years. Instead of being about equality it's often blatant sexism towards men. I just stick to the dictionary definition.

What disturbs me about the way that feminism has evolved is that instead of getting the message “You can be anything “ girls are being led to believe that they can and should be everything. They should get an education, be a great employee, have a spouse, have kids, breastfeed, keep a clean house, cook gourmet meals, look hot always, and be a sexual dynamo. Anything less and she has failed as a woman.

The part that gets left out is that one person can’t possibly do all of that. Not well, anyway. Girls need to pick their paths more carefully and be mindful of the fact that there are trade offs. For example, if you want to be a successful surgeon, you are going to have to sacrifice being a present mother. If you want to be a great wife and mother, you would be best served not trying to have a career and climb the corporate ladder.

Feminism was great because it gave women more opinions. “All of the above” is not a realistic option or a healthy life choice though. Currently, feminists seem to be unaware of that.

I worked in the gender equality field and was awestruck at how many double standards exist. No one seemed to care about them, anyway. When I wrote about boys and girls education scores in my country, where every single subject is better for girls, and I honestly explained the statistics in our policy documents, I was told to have a more female approach to that, that I put way more attention on boys.

When I wrote about male suicide, that is already several times higher than women's even in childhood, no one gave a single crap.

All the stupid statistics of wage inequality that don't help at all were pushed in everyone's face. And they couldn't even explain how those statistics come to be. I was astounded by the sheer herd ideology these people went by. It's like.. When I wrote how women on average make more in construction and engineering, they told me my data must've been wrong. Are you serious? Obviously they make more, women are usually the engineers and the managers, not the everyday pavement builders. Had to scrape that part out of the press release.

Yes, there is plenty of good that came from feminism. But right now it's gone absolutely destructive. I'm always for equal rights and opportunities, but not for this herd mentality.

I'm no pill, but I'm against any and all groups/ affiliations/ bodies of thought that encourage people to take on the philosophies as part of their identity. It's a weak and intellectually lazy way to think.

This includes feminism, TRP , any and all political parties, MGTOW, etc. All are designed for and targeted to people who don't want to think for themselves.

I align with specific ideals/ thoughts/ policies/ philosophies, but I don't identify with them. I share many beliefs with modern feminists. I also share beliefs with some libertarians, some democrats, some republicans, and many different advocacy groups. I've never found a single one that I agree with enough to tie myself to. I have to admit that I judge those who do as intellectually small.

"I agree with the X group about this issue" > "I AM X"

longer answer: modern western feminism isn't fighting for anything that actually matters or even helps women, in general. I want no part in nor will I support a movement where "female representation in video games" is seen as a valid thing to be concerned abt when there are women and children across the globe being forced into sex trafficking, girls being made to marry men 2 or 3 times their age, women literally being raped to death in central Africa, and on and on and on. but none of that makes these "feminists" angry, what really gets them to put a hat on and march around with sassy protest signs is that Trump once made a crass comment abt grabbing pussy. it is quite honestly insulting that these "activists" even claim to give a damn abt any women that aren't in their privileged positions in this world

also the man-hating is equal parts tragic and ironic

I'm a 2nd wave feminist. Freedom for everyone! But I'm not going to blame men for my hardships. As a result, I'm against 3rd and 4th feminism, which blames men.

I am Purple Pill. I think Liberal Feminism(pop feminism) is meaningless garbage. I think poststructural feminism has a point, but I do not see the function of it or how it would even function.

i dont consider myself "anti feminist" because that assumes feminism is some default position that i am setting myself against. i reject feminist political premises as collectivism, no more or less than any other collectivist premises. the only thing i gues si agree with is women shouldnt have de jure legal impediments place dupon them as a class by the government. this is based in a constitutional vision, not "feminism" per se

Because I think there are innate differences between men and women and that there's nothing wrong with this.

Feminism tries to close this gap between the sexes by training women to act like little men. It writes off the entire female experience as a bug and it's stupid.

I lean red, and my only beef with feminism is that it isn't honest with women about the way things are. It tells women that it is fine for them to embrace the traditional male role (having careers, etc.), but it also leads them to expect that men will be fine with embracing the traditional female one -- helping out with housework and childcare, for example. And most men aren't really down with that! The result is a lot of stressed-out, exhausted, resentful women who are carrying a double load of work and domestic duties. (I know this, because I used to be one.)

I think us older broads need to be honest with younger women. Yes, get that degree and that high-flying job, just be aware that you're probably still going to be stuck doing the dishes! If you don't want to do household chores, it probably makes more sense to hire help than to nag your husband and be bitterly resentful when he doesn't step up and do "his fair share." Men just aren't wired up that way.

Disclaimer: I'm "no pill" but I have a lot of RPW tendencies and ideas.

I consider myself a feminist sympathizer, but not a feminist (specifically, a sympathizer with radical feminism). I don't believe that all choices made by women are inherently feminist. There are actions that further the revolution, and actions that bring us further into the fold of patriarchy.

Too many of my own choices are what I would consider "anti-feminist" for me to call myself a feminist in good conscience. Still, I'm glad feminists are around, and I think radfems have a lot right.

I feel like feminism is becoming a naturally outdated term as it becomes more and more ubiquitous. In its healthiest form, it just speaks on gender equality, but because gender equality isn’t the hot button it used to be, it’s also difficult to find anyone against it- Like, who would make a party called the Anti-Fart-Sniffing party, MOST people don’t want to smell farts, you’re not special.

But in the same way that even racists and murderers can ALSO be anti-fart sniffing, feminism has an awful lot of sub-demographics that are straight up hateful garbage. There are feminists circles that house neonazis, TERF’s exist because a demographic of feminists can’t stand the idea of transgender people existing, there are groups that say men aren’t even allowed to be feminist (??? Like? What what is gained from excluding people form a movement??)

So I feel like it’s gotten super clunky and unwieldy with each new cancerous growth. I’d be fine seeing the word fade into the sands of time and replaced with something more neutral like “egalitarianism” or something.

I despise feminism because it's a political movement essentially based on group identification. This inevitably produces a divide and alienation among groups and does the opposite of what it attempts to strive for

It just doesn't seem to help anyone, it makes a lot of assumptions and prescribes what we should be doing and doesn't seem to make anyone any happier.

I also think it's too individualistic and focussed on the idea of rights and privileges to produce happiness. It encourages competition with men in a way which I don't think is helpful
