I know this is controversial for TRPers, but it's important to base your beliefs on facts and not just on baseless assumptions. Just because something feels true doesn't mean it is actually true no matter what the sidebar says.

If TRPers try evo-psych it's usually like this: "sluts make me feel icky" -> "this means that this feeling is natural" -> "therefore this has to have an evolutionary explanation" -> "therefore our human history must have been exactly like I assume it was"

How evo-psych actually should be done instead: "sluts make me feel icky" -> "is this even true for all men or for all cultures?" -> "nope it's only true for cultures with strong religious backgrounds that tell people that sex outside of marriage is a sin and that sluts deserve to rot in hell. sluts only make men that grew up getting indoctrinated with slut shaming attitudes feel icky" -> "therefore this reaction is learned and not a natural gut instinct"

As long as TRP does evo-psych based on how they want our history to be like and based on what they want to be natural it's impossible to take them seriously.

You can't just start with an assumption and then come up with an evo-psych explanation that proves you right and then use this explanation to prove that your assumption was right. That's not how science is done, that's how conspiracy theorists attempt to do science.
