I think by "big muscles" she means a "roid monster" level body, and not Chris Hemsworth or somebody with natural "big" muscle that doesn't require tailored clothes. I think by "scrawny nerd" she means a fit skinny guy like Andrew Garfield.

I think bloops come in here and believe terps wanna look like a gross modern day Mr. Universe, when most of us want to look like Captain America and not the Hulk.

She doesn't understand how men's bodies work. When she says "big muscles", she's thinking of the kind of muscles roids and 20 hours a week at the gym produce, when she says "scrawny nerds" she's thinking of the kind of body a good diet and 5 hours a week at they gym produce.

Very simple, she has Arnold Schwarzenegger in mind while most men think about body builders like zyzz. And pretty much nobody who doesn't train more than 1 hour per day everyday of the week, looks at his diet will ever look too muscular for most women out there.

And if having muscles filters out women who are too insecure to handle them then having a bunch of muscles is a good idea, you don't want these women.

I think a lot of people's opinions are painted by past experiences when it comes to their preferences. I've had a couple of girls tell me they like scrawny guys only to fawn over the muscles when the clothes come off. I've had a few comment afterwards about NOW they know what it is like to be with an athlete.

I don't get too hung up on people's preferences for that reason

Who knows? The question is too vague to stimulate focused, interesting discussion. Everyone has a different interpretation of what 'big muscles' and 'scrawny' means so it's impossible to discuss with any structure. One women doesn't say anything about women in general and you can find a woman who does truly prefer all interpretations of 'scrawny' and 'big muscles' and everything in between. I think most people already know this.

What if a man says he likes 'curvy' women and not thin ones? What does he mean? Does it make any difference if he turns his head if a hot thin woman walks by - does that prove he's a liar? Does 'curvy' mean toned woman with some boobs and hips or women with ample fat?

Probably muscular man to them means an extreme outlier like those competitions, rather than thinking of Chris Evans or even Chris Pratt in recent times.

Skinny nerd is probably JGL in 500 days of summer, Andrew Garfield, Benedict Cumberbatch etc.

Basically, without hearing an example of a person who fits their image of muscular vs scrawny, I just assume they think of outliers as a lot of women do.

Hm I think it can be both - Scrawny nerds might have a more preferable personality but the bulky guys win on physical attraction. Or it could be a phase, every girls goes through the Geekchic guy phase.
