I thought I did, back when I turned 38-ish. I gave up dating, started collecting pets, and gained like 50 lbs. Since then I had about 5 lovers, lost 40 lbs and I got engaged this past year at 48. And my 70 year old mother in law got married for the third time and went on a honeymoon world tour. It is hard to believe in expiration dates now.

I definitely feel the pressure of having an expiration date. However it’s self inflicted. I want a lot of children and would like to conceive naturally and not out of wedlock. I also want to be financially in a good place before I have children. After I have children though, I don’t feel like my age affects anything I do.

I have financial goals for each decade so I can retire early but I wouldn’t consider this as an expiration date.

I don't care whether men find me attractive or not. I'm married and my husband's adoration is more than enough for me. Getting old together must be quite wholesome. Men's attention in general as often as not is troublesome, it isn't what I would seek or work for.

I see enough people who date in their 40s and 50s, so I don't think that age is an obstacle. My mother is >50s, she has a lot of guys of her age and younger who want to take on a date. She isn't interested though.

Also, I'm bi and if I hadn't gotten married, I'd have probably dated my friend, who had asked me out.

Ok but then society values men based on their ability to earn and provide for women. Inclusive of their looks, are the masculine enough but not too much otherwise they must be a predator.

Society judges men over 25 by saying you must be married otherwise your broken or a predator, take you kids to the park yeah your being a good father and a predator.

You have to dress well and always be presentable but no too much otherwise your faking it and trying to hard.

No, not in terms of looks. I honestly don't understand this stigma either. You can buy pretty, skinny, thin, and young. Just about any external fix can be bought. 98 percent of the time, I can't even tell if a man or woman did get "work" down. In this part of CA both genders get work done. No one cares.

It's the internal stuff, (arthritis, lower metabolism, back, knee, issues, etc) that terrifies me. There isn't a quick and easy solution for these. Who cares about the outward appearance, either gender, can easily purchase or prolong "young".

Menopause. Each family is different. Women in my family hit puberty late, hit menopause late, and live into the 100s....

Lots of women let themselves go though or try to be more mature or maternal and I think that kills their sexuality. I mean, hell, look at jLo and Shakira - still completely sexual beings. It honestly reminds me of the Madonna-whore complex but almost self inflicted as well as inflicted by society.

Personally, my way older sister is gorgeous in her 40s, my mom would be in her 60s if she took care of herself, and my grandmother was a beauty queen in her youth and kept up with her self care until she was 97 and still looked fab. It’s all about self care and where you’re at mentally.

On a purely scientific terms of ova viability - yes. It’s 35-38. It goes beyond just eggs at the point, my body post 40 is unlikely to be ready to be awake all night feeding babies. So, an expiry for reproduction - yes.

But that’s why we like sperm donation! If you have your shit together you don’t actually need a man to have a child. If I don’t meet someone awesome by 34 I’m having a kid by IVF: Hold my beer.

For a relationship - no. Always cute stories of little old men and women finding each other in ages care homes or whatever. Age is no barrier to companionship or connection. 💕

Women whose sense of self is contingent on being physically attractive to others are the ones who do have an expiration date. They do exist.

In terms of looks no, that's not quite how I feel about it. The phrase "expiration date" has a lot of emotional baggage that isn't at all relevant to how I feel about the process of aging. I've come to accept the fact that I'll look different when I'm older and that the quantity of men (and smaller quantity of women) that I attract will likely diminish. This is something I can live with and not reflective of my worth as a person.

On the other hand I already feel like my body is past its expiration date when it comes to health and general wellbeing. I am only twenty years old and my body is already failing me thanks to chronic illnesses. I never even got to have a physical prime. I try not to be bitter about it, but sometimes I feel cheated because I'll never get to feel what it's like to be a healthy young adult.

Not a hard date, but human beings tend to have peak performance in many things and I am past that on all fronts now.

As I age: my body will become weaker; my mind will become weaker; my reflexes will slow down; the quality of my skin will deteriorate; my memory will become weaker; I will be more likely to break bones etc. etc.

The reality is that I will never again be as good as various things as I was when I was ranging from 6-23 which is apparently the age at which things peak, different for different skills.

No, because I wouldn't be with a man who views me as a piece of meat with an expiration date. I'm not concerned with what low value males think of me. Besides, most men expire the moment they are conceived. It's funny that men have this revenge fantasy of women "hitting the wall" when they don't realize that they are genetic garbage who hit the wall the moment their father's sperm fertilized their mother's egg. No amount of red pill nonsense or PUA will help them. They'll end up settling for a fat, post-wall, single mom if they're lucky.
