Ime young women are pretty consistently into "pretty" boys.

For our age group I think beards may be a sign of maturity/getting ready to settle down. Pretty much all of the young guys I know with a lot facial hair have been in an LTR for at least a year or two. The ones who are just sleeping around and/or single are typically clean-shaven.

It does apply for some women in their 20s, but not all of them. Teenagers tend to like guys who look like teenagers, women in their 20s tend to like men who look like they’re in their 20s, etc. There are exceptions to every rule but that’s the typical trend. Among my group of (female) friends, I’d say fit late 20’s guy (note: that’s a little older than we are) > stereotypical “pretty boys” > old men, in terms of how common attraction is to each.

My tastes as I moved towards death: - 14-18: very effeminate, yaoi style hairless except head boys - 18-26: pretty boys, but no longer looking 100% gay, If you could play an elf or vampire in a movie we're a match - 26-30 (now): Still into slim men with a bit of boyish face, but some muscle and more masculine features in the face are appreciated.

I guess I'll be into silver fox charming guys like Clooney somewhere in my 45s. The slider of attraction moves towards more mature looking men.

I am over 30 and would take the pretty boy over a masculine men. Lean body, clean shaven ( facial hair is mostly a turn off) hair cut short (but on the longer side of short), looking younger than they are. Like Paul Rudd or Keanu Reeves without beard.

As a young woman, I believe sexuality and attraction is very fluid.

Women are attracted to all types of men as long as they're good looking and they have a large waist-shoulder ratio. I used to be more attracted to very masculine older men when I was a teenager. Now I am attracted to "pretty boys" too. "pretty boy" can also have muscles. Also I don't mind men doing typically feminine things or wearing more feminine clothes as long as their personality is manly. That's my taste personally.

I’m early/mid twenties and still prefer pretty to more stereotypically masculine. Especially guys who don’t feel threatened in their masculinity by dressing in a way that’s more stereotypically feminine.

Yes, although I'd say masculine and handsome is the default preference over pretty boy for 90% of women. Obviously teenage girls are going to be attracted to younger looking men than men who look closer to their dads age then theirs.

Tastes season and mature but they’re all very genuine.

George Clooney and Chris Hemsworth are both Chads. But older women would genuinely prefer George Clooney over Chris because they deeply desire the experienced man look. When a man is attractive, he looks better with age until a certain point. Some men remain attractive in their late 60s. Older women desire these men.

Meanwhile preteens can’t understand their parents lust for Denzel Washington. When the teens are losing their minds for Michael B Jordan. But an older woman would take Denzel any day.

Chads are not some perpetual 18- 22 y/o Chads. Women like different things at different times.

It’s men who claim to only desire 18-22 year olds so I think that’s the mindset you’re projecting onto women. For women are tastes are varied a an unique. They change over time but not in the beta bux way, these older men are panty droppers.

Being a pretty boy is often a proxy for status. A pretty boy dresses well, has good hair, and so on, which are all proxies for wealth. They often come from good families that can afford to give them those things when they are in their teens and early 20s. That also implies that they have a great future ahead of them.

That also applies to the celebrity pretty boys like Timberlake, Bieber, etc. They have through the roof status, which causes younger women to get incredibly turned on by them. And when their friends indicate that they like one of those guys, that turns them on even more due to the busy restaurant effect.

Being "pretty" also is a proxy for good genetics. These guys typical have very high facial attractiveness and are naturally athletic. And on the personality front, because they started getting female attention from puberty, they also tend to be naturally "cool" and not overreact when women give them attention. That makes them even more attractive. Pretty boys are also non-threatening and safe, so younger girls that are timid for more dangerous types of guys are drawn to them. All of this adds up to young girls loving these guys.

That said... Although a high status pretty boy celebrity is obviously the peak of attractiveness for younger girls, you rarely see women over 25 going nuts over them. Around 20 or so, they seem to start shifting more towards the "stud" type guys that are tall, built, etc. By 30, it is pretty rare that a woman would find a Justin Bieber type more attractive than a Chris Hemsworth type.

My husband was a very pretty boy in his early teens. I thought He was way too pretty to be taken seriously, and preferred my boys a bit more rugged. He cut his hair shorter in his late teens, and started needing to shave, which piqued my interest.

My eldest son is pretty in a babyfaced, blue eyed sort of way, and gets attention from younger girls rather than girls his own age.

Speaking from experience, quite possibly yes. Girls want boys and men who look like girls. Pretty boys can clean up in their early years.

Later at some point women want a more masculine man, and she looks at pretty boy and suspects he's either a player or gay. The dominant emotion here is suspicion, distrust, and leeriness.

Women start preferring masculine men from mid 20s on because biologically they want a family, and masculine men are good bets as fathers and husbands, whereas pretty boys are not.

Nevertheless a pretty boy with great Game and perhaps a bit of power, fame, money, or status can continue to do well with women into his 60s if his dick still works.

I have known 50 year old women who fell wildly in love with 55 year old pretty boys. The guys had other good qualities, including a bit of status, slight fame, but in particular, incredible Game.

It never really ends for pretty boys as long as they keep their looks intact and especially have some killer Game. Females from 13 to 85 love a pretty face, and pretty boy has one.

When I was a teen, I felt attractions for a bit of either flavor. I’m 26 now, and I do tend to enjoy some moderate facial hair. My husband is kind of both, I think. He’s a little pretty due to the bone structure of his face, but also masculine due to his facial hair a bass-y voice. What I find physically attractive for men has been consistently both at the same time.
