When it’s been proven that this is often what happens to men. I know so many people in the healthcare field and they always mention how common it is for older male patients to have no one to come and get them when they’re being discharged from the hospital. Often times the hospital will have to call a cab/request an Uber etc. I’ve heard stories on how there are way more men in nursing/retirement homes who have no one come visit them or check up on them them. Women are also known for developing deeper and stronger social connections/bonds than men do. I read a study awhile back on how men have problems after retiring because they don’t tend to maintain or seek out social bonds so many become depressed and reclusive. While for women it’s the opposite, many women try to pick up hobbies or volunteer work to remain socially connected. Given all this where does this stereotype that it’s women who end up dying alone with their cats come from when it’s clearly the opposite?
