This is 100% about mens' ego around carrying forward a surname, which you/he did mention but it's nothing to do with some sort of "pedigree".

Tale as old as time: my ex constantly saying “I never want to have a daughter!!!”. He was absolute trash and I understand his fear of his daughter running into a guy like him.

Eventually he changed to “I want to have daughters so I can scare the guys who like them” which was absolute caveman behavior. He imagined shooting his daughters’ eventual partners.

To top it all off, he was dying for me to carry his kids but never proposed to me while I wanted him to. I am so happy I protected my womb.

So, I have this very NVM old friend who's nearing 40, never been in a serious relationship, thinks he's hot shit (it always amazes me how delusional they are). And he's been "on the fence" about kids until recently.

Anyways, he was telling me about this writing exercise he did, where you write your own future Wikipedia entry of yourself to help clarify your goals and what you aim to achieve cough narcissistic much? cough

And he was telling me how it was when he was writing his own "Wikipedia" entry that he realized he wanted kids, so he could have a sentence on there that read something like "he lives an idyllic life with his two children and wife."

I deeply feel for the poor soul who ends up falling for this delusional loser and bearing his children and doing everything so he can have his "idyllic life". And will probably never know that her existence only revolves around an imaginary Wikipedia entry he's never gonna have.

My ex dumped me after we spent half our lives together because he SUDDENLY realized he DESPERATELY wanted children. I'm CF. Of course he said the phrase "to carry on his legacy". Barf. What legacy? He has no interesting hobbies, no practical skills, unremarkable genes, a mediocre job, 0 patience, and 0 empathy. ^{He's going to be a terrible father.}

I had a South Asian colleague who is 1000% nvm. He told me he and his wife travel with their kids seperately, incase one plan crashes or something and one of his sons will live and continue his lEgACY.

Like what fucking legacy? You're one of a billion. He doesn't come from wealth or prominence of any kind.

But it does make me laugh when they get super offended at my childfree status. I wouldn't be having you kid anyways Kyle, you can't afford a nanny, or housekeeper I'll need because you won't pull your weight, or the plastic surgery I'll want to repair my body back to factory settings.

Never met him because he passed from severe alcoholism before I met my late husband, but my FIL was a serious NVM. Left my MIL pregnant with my SIL. Wouldn't speak to her for years, then came back randomly with the intention to get her pregnant with a boy to pass his bloodline on and be something he would actually claim. It worked and my guy was named after him, but he obviously didn't stay.

My SIL got sterilized without having kids and my husband died before we could start trying, so I guess his "legacy" didn't work out for him. I had some distant relatives in that family seriously push me to get a sperm donor and pretend I got pregnant just before he died, though. They even offered to pay, but I was way deep into grieving to want to become a single mother in my early 20s with no real help.

Edit because someone replied but I guess the comment was removed , basically idk what their plan was with all of that. I think they just wanted to pretend that the family didn’t die out (almost every single man on his father’s side died young without kids, although with a lot of them it was because they were stupid and careless. I’m the last option because my SIL can’t have kids now and has her husband’s name). I was just a vessel to make them feel better, although it wouldn’t have really done anything because they wouldn’t have seen my child regardless and I don’t think I could’ve gotten pregnant quick enough for it to be believable anyway. Just a bunch of wacky ass old people. We don’t speak because they made it abundantly clear that if I didn’t do everything they asked for I was nothing to them.

So many men don’t actually understand what it means to have and raise kids. The amount of hard work, care and love it takes.

It’s all about ego for them. They’re the “kodak dads” who won’t do any of the raising but will brag about “continuing their lineage” or whatever the fuck. Despite these Scrotes being completely ordinary and not some royal dynasty.

They don’t see kids as kids, just trophies that prove that they’ve had sex. They see their wife as nothing but a vessel for their human trophies. It’s disgusting.

Meanwhile there are so many kids in the foster care system who need a loving home.

He didn't care about my health or wellbeing or opinions or how I might like to be part of that whole parental picture. Actually, he didn't really care about me, in any way, at all. Matter of fact, I have no idea who he actually really is or was. At this point it's just a jumbled mess of gaslighting and he might be a demon or a blackhole wearing a human suit.

He was trying to lock me under more of his abusive control and take financial advantage of me for himself, with his "legacy". And I said, "No, absolutely not."

There's a reason there are no "Samantha Jr." little girls running around; women tend not to be that level of narcissist. A girl would still be his bloodline but this shows he sees women just as incubators (and probably housemaids and "50/50" partners even though she does most or all of the housework and child rearing). This is the kind of dude to freak tf out when he sees the sonogram and the doc tells him it's a girl. This is also probably the dude who then (if he even gives two shits about his daughter) would raise her with quaint little notions that are totally not toxic such as "she won't have a boyfriend until her 30's" but then when he has a son, basically forgets about her and raises his son to "be a real lady killer" so, hard pass.

I never understand what scrotes think is their legacy they want to pass on, nor understand why they think any sane woman would want to be with them and all of their 0 contributions to a relationship.

My dude's father was FURIOUS with him because he wouldn't pressure his ex-wife into having more children when they didn't end up with a boy.

They'd planned for two kids, had two daughters and after the second kid my dude went to get snipped....that's what he and his ex-wife had agreed to, only two kids and then vasectomy for him.

My dude's father started in with the pressure and meanness the DAY his second granddaughter was born. How's that for scrotefulness... he was bitching about "no boy" and "he's got to make her have another kid" in the hospital waiting room while all the rest of the family was just happy to see the new baby and hear the mom is ok.

Asshole kept up his snide comments and pressure.... at the youngest daughter's first birthday party my dude had had ENOUGH ... so my dude took him outside to tell him to shut his hole and be nice.... and got the ultimatum of "make her have kids until you have a boy or I'll disown you"

So my dude dropped the bomb about the vasectomy and told his father to fuckoff and not come back until he could act right.

They never spoke again. But my dude said it actually made family gatherings less stressful so he didn't care.
