The idea of perfect weddings are pushed so hard onto women who are sold the idea by the sexist industry that being a bride is somehow a privileged state that a man deigns to bestow onto her.

Some examples - the whole concept of bridal lingerie, getting ready robes etc. Where’s the male equivalent? Do men get up early at ungodly hours to do their hair and makeup, wear matching cute clothes with their bridal party, then when the whole thing is done, the bride is also expected to have prepared special bridal lingerie as a gift to her husband?

Where are the grooms preparing down to every last detail what he will wear after the wedding is over and he is in the hotel relaxing with his new wife?

Why does the industry act like being a bride is anazing and incredible just because a man deigned to propose to you? Marriage benefits men not women. Women shouldn’t be so grateful for the bare minimum, to be ‘chosen’ - it is MEN who should be begging for women to choose THEM. Married men live longer, make more money, have less stress, are gifted children that they didn’t need to to birth and raise etc.

So sick of the sexist wedding industry.
