I've seen many accounts of men being 29 and in the description "*mistake, I'm actually 38" or a neurosurgeon "aged 28" - his instagram account had birthyear tho (like nicolas1980). A guy once told me he was 28 when he was 31.

It's almost as if they know very well they're not getting any hotter with age.

This is a psa for everyone: if he looks older, he probably is! Btw you can also tell a 30+ man from a 20s man by their hands. I noticed 30+ man will have thicker fingers and rougher skin on his hands. Larger and dry looking.

My LVX that I met on hinge did this. I had my age range set to 25-30 and I marked my age limit as a rule breaker, meaning that the app won’t show me men over 30. I was about 22 at the time and even then, dating someone who was 30 was a big stretch for me.

My ex purposely sat his age to 29 (despite him actually being 34) in order to get younger women. I didn’t learn he was 34 until towards the end of our relationship when I had his driver’s license and saw his date of birth. I did some quick mental math and I realized that he was not 29. I never mentioned it to him that he lied because a few days later we broke up (he cheated by hooking up with some barely legal girl on hinge).

I remember while we were dating that he claimed to have a “preference” for women between the ages of 20-25. I thought it was just an oddly specific preference but now I realize that he was honestly a predator. I would like to also mention that he had TWO daughters that were 12 and 10. Thinking about it, I am creeped out by the idea that most women in his “preferred” age range are closer in age to his young daughters than to him, myself at the time included. We were only together for about 3-4 months but this relationship left some deep ass scars on me mentally and emotionally.

Anyway, this situation is just one of the many reasons why I deleted dating apps.

If a man lies about his age online and prefers women that are significantly younger than him, please please RUN AWAY.

*Note: his preferred age range referred to women he could see himself marrying/settling down with, but he had no qualms with sleeping with an 18 year old (who he cheated on me with). He was old enough to be her father 🤢

A lot of men are scrotes who will lie if they think it will help them to get laid. They will post fake/photoshopped pics of themselves and lie about their age, height, job, education, wealth, and life experiences on OLD.

Tinder men are notorious for doing this with their age. Or posting at the bottom "age is an accident, I'm actually..." I would report every profile I saw that did this but unfortunately I don't think it actually did anything. I'd still see these same douchebags in rotation. One guy was literally 49 and trying to pass off as 38. He was a middle school history teacher. All the close pics were of him with sunglasses, everything else far away, and probably all of them were old! Seriously makes me 🤮 They're lying and manipulating to try to match with younger women. They should be banned from the apps for this. Side note, I haven't been on any apps in a long time, was so sick of all the LVM and obvious lying! Thanks FDS👑

These dating apps are awful. Most men on there don’t have any social skills. There might be a minority of genuine good ones but there are so many liars, most lie on their age, height, marital or professional situation. Anything is game to get a date / sex (let’s face it, if they had genuine long terms intentions, they would know that sooner or later you would realise). It’s really not worth it.

I’ve went on a date with a guy who lied that he was 28 years when he was actually 32 years (I am 24 years old). He also only used pics when he was 27-28 years old. I asked him why he lied about his age that he said that “women in my age range looked like hags”. He wasn’t self aware at all, he also looked way better before than he does now. That’s why he was catfishing with these pics, f*ck men who act like this.

That's happened to me. Older guy, claimed to be younger than he was. His true age was within my preferred range, but the fact that he lied was a deal-breaker. Why is that so hard to grok? Nobody wants a partner who lies to them.

I had this one dude put 35, and when we met up he asked what my age limit was. So I said 35-40 (I'm 30). Then I went on to say anything over was creepy. Tell me how this man was put off. Apparently he was 42, and he swears up and down he put 42 instead of 35. He said I made him feel like a perv. He ended the date short because I creeped him out. Yeah that's right, he said me lmao 😂

This has happenes to me several times but I always search men before meeting them, and learn that they are lying about their age. I report them on dating apps. And often times, they would still be within my set age range, but lying is the dealbreaker. I find A LOT of 40+ men so this.

Reminds me of my LVX (we were more like online fwb)... I was 18 and he was supposedly 21 when we met online. Later I asked for his age again, after I first saw a picture of his face and commented he looked older. He was very hesitant but I kept pushing because his unwillingness to say his age was so sketchy. In the end he confessed to lying about his age: he wasn't 21, he was 25 instead. He had only told me he was 21 in the hopes of seeming more approachable to an 18-year-old... At the time we were talking about meeting up (and even hooking up because he was adamant he would be the right guy to lose my virginity to lol wtf) but I called it off, though I stupidly kept in contact with him. He became more openly pornsick now that the prospect of sex was out of the picture.

I still remember how mindlessly he'd creep me out by saying girls aged 18-21 are the hottest. He was obsessed with porn and treated me like a sex object only. When I told him his fascination with my young age made me insecure about growing older he said I shouldn't worry as long as my body stays tight :/ Oh, and when his birthday came around he aged up two whole years of course.

This is my NVMX, first thing he says to me after break up (we were sharing dog custody and he was still giving me money at this stage - MISTAKE) was ugh I hate even repeating this “Well I’m fucking a 24 yr (insert her WRONG NATIONALITY)”.
