And that's essentially why the wage gap wont be fixed until they start promoting, or even forcing, males to take time off work.

There's only two ways to fix the wage gap, either artificially pay women more than men, or encourage males to take time off work (via their entitlements).

Essentially, males need to go on maternity leave, even single males. Yep that sounds crazy, but maternity leave needs to be thought of as "family leave" and be it either for a newborn baby of just for family life in general.

Once males and females are then taking equivalent time out of the workplace, then they'd have equivalent skillsets, so the upper end jobs would see the numbers of males to females equalize. Further, it would also increase the male work/life balance and probably (hypothesis) help decrease male depression.

Better for males, better for females.

Not really. Cracked really doesn't pay that well. Writing for them is very much a second/third job.
