Was married for a little over 10 years. Make significantly more than my STBXW. I make a little over $200K (30% variable bonus that is not guaranteed) and she roughly $60K.

Do you think agreeing to an alimony that is 22.5% of the difference in the annual gross base salary and 22.5% of the bonus makes sense? Basically works out to roughly 17% of my total gross income pretax. For 6 year duration. There will be a cap on the gross income (lets say $210K) that will be used for the purposes of this calculation every year. So if I get a bigger bonus or change jobs for a pay hike, it limits what I have to pay as alimony. Will this agreement be reasonable? Not emotional about the money and have accepted the fact that it is the law. Just want to make sure I am not paying more than I need to. State: NJ
