• She didn't have strength to fix the marriage.
  • She didn't have honesty to end it cleanly.
  • She didn't have integrity to be alone.

This is always how she was, this was just the first time I saw her when the chips were down. She was always immature and irresponsible, it just worked in my favour when the sun was shining.

She has behaved appallingly, but she needs to portray herself as 'living her best life' or 'escaping a loveless marriage', etc. so she will never admit it. She is never going to sit me down and admit to me, "I was a coward and I lied to you because it was easier than fighting for our relationship.". Ever.

It is so hard to look back at the wreckage of my relationship with her and realise in hindsight that so much of it consisted of me holding together the frayed edges of intimacy, romance and "love" while she just did whatever she pleased and if those things coincided then great, but otherwise only held together by my effort.

It hurts to know she's living her best life and already (!) moved on to another relationship, she doesn't regret anything, she doesn't have a care in the world. She spends no emotional currency wondering 'what if...' because she cannot allow herself to be the villain of her own story.
