I share your pain. My wife saw some messages between me and Xbox buddies from 15 years ago when I was 30. Admittedly, it was immature toxic banter, where we called each other “homo”, “gay””pull up your panties” and other things like “babe,” “cutie,” and making mock-romantic comments back and forth. Also mixed in were jokes about sex and women. Nothing else, just 15y/o messages between guys. According to her straight men don’t make homosexual related jokes to one another. Apparently these messages were enough for her to tell my kids and her friends that I was gay. It was hurtful at first to have her question my sexuality, but now I just don’t give a f$&k what she thinks (now going through a divorce). My kids all laughed and told her she was wrong, but she continues to spread these lies.

She does it to piss you off. Someone once told me “they push your buttons because the button is connected to something. Cut the wire and the button is useless to them.”

So I stopped showing any response. Look up “gray rock technique” it’s a way to deal with toxic people who enjoy getting a reaction from you. The reaction feeds them, it gives them satisfaction.

It might feel like losing, to bite your tongue instead of respond, but it is winning because you deny them what they want from you.

Damn. Just be glad you're moving onwards and upwards. Best advice, ignore it but document it. In certain situations you can use it against her as libel and/or slander and possibly reduce any alimony and or CS you may be required to pay. X#1 sent various emails and texts msgs to family and friends saying bogus stuff, nearly got me fired from my job, that I used against her during yhe divorce and got my alimony reduced to just 9 months.

Can't stress this enough, document everything and save it, you never know when you'll need to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat to use against her.

My exwife did that. Told her friends I was dating a man. That was the reason I filed for divorce. Not her toxic addiction to pills. Not her great big dui crashes. Not her screaming fits of rage when she would run out of narcotics. Nope it was because I was gay.

So this lie got back to our daughters. So I decided to let our kids meet my girlfriend. The 4 of us went out to dinner. And they could see my girlfriend was a busty lady who had birthed 3 children and was most definitely not a man. They used their cells to do cute Snapchat pics.

My exwife found out and she called me, screaming at me for making a fool of her.

I get the ignore comments but if it’s really bad I would consider suing her, or at least sending a demand letter from a lawyer. In many states saying someone has been unfaithful is per se defamation. It would most likely get her to at least stop or even correct the lies.
