This sucks but it’s for the best. Imagine finding out he was a cheater after you were married, living together, had kids, what have you.

Also bad behaviors only get worse. If he couldn’t stop his wandering eye now imagine how he’ll be later.

Anyway it’s totally human and okay to feel sad. He wasn’t who you thought he was. He betrayed you. But you did the right thing and in time you will be much happier.

It will hurt, especially if you thought he was a good guy and you wanted it to go somewhere. But, you had a verbal agreement and you trusted his word. He lied to you and broke your agreement. If he’s okay to lie to you once, he will lie to you again and it only shows he doesn’t respect you and doesn’t value your opinion. You can’t be with somebody like that. A good guy would really care about your opinion and your feelings and would respect you. If he was really into you and wanted to make it work then he would make sacrifices and he definitely wouldn’t lie to you. Well done for cutting it off, don’t give him another chance.

Good on you, if there is anything I have learned in my early/mid 20s it is that you cannot find a HVM without having high standards for who you will date. It helps me.to realise, the person I thought the NVM was, does not exist. If I just look at reality (e.g. he is a POS NVM who would leech me to death if I allowed it), then I havent made a loss in ending the relationship, I've made a gain. What hurts is the lost potential , aka something that doesnt exist in real life.
