I have a male acquaintance like this. He’s super short, unattractive, and whiny. And yet he always crushes on the hot women a lot younger than him, then complains about how no one ever likes him. Once an actually cute woman his age had a crush on him and wanted to go out, and not only did he reject her, he was mean to her about it. Then went right back to complaining.

Also, they can't handle when women complain about dating, I literally had a man manexplain to me on r/dating I'm clearly going after hot attractive men and I need to low my expectation or settle. I brought up most of the guys I was talking about were only average or below. Then he had the nerve to bring up looks are subjective. I agreed with him till he said his standards were super high too. It happens on both sides, I think people should date who they want and be able to love, but should evaluate their standards if they find themselves single for a long time.
