Not only are they young and have 0 self esteem , they probably come from extremely abusive environments for them to believe those gurus and narcissists are "normal" and that those relationships offer them something valuable when it doesn't. This was a sad watch. I'm glad some poeple got their lives together afterwards and extracted themselves from these toxic environments.

Oh yes. I saw the show. Joe Exotic and Bhavagan Antle are prime examples of the warped male mind acting without constraints. These men use their money and power to behave like disgusting apes. Viewing people and animals as disposable things.

When the woman was attacked by the tiger, Joe Exotic says something to the effect of: "This will financially ruin me." Ok, what about the woman who was fucking attacked by your tiger who is physically maimed?! This showed that he doesn't give a shit about anyone except himself. Zero empathy.

I didn't have much pity for most of the women on the show either, to be honest. The only exceptions being the zoo employee who lost her arm, and the woman who had the common sense to escape Doc Antle's PickMe animal factory.

As for Lauren, it revolts me when women bring an innocent child into these situations. If a woman wants to degrade herself with a trash LVM dirtbag, fine. But do the world a favor and permanently sterilize yourself.

I really can't watch a lot of popular series as of late.
When men are depicted as vile creatures, people line up to admire them, emulate them, or mansplain their behavior. Women are almost always mis-cast with actresses who are too young for their roles, all look identical, are all pickmes and/or are graphically depicted in scenarios that inevitably involve rape, sexual exploitation, or sex work.
I remember my one pickme sister hating on the wife of the main (cheating, lying, scummy) character in Mad Men. It seems like people bend over backwards to approve of vile male behavior in modern day TV shows. They'd probably hold up Archie Bunker as a paragon of virtue if "All In The Family" were a new series shown today. Seriously. As soon as I watch a show and I get bad vibes, I turn it off. The few times I don't, I learn to regret my decision. This garbage will poison your soul. I'd rather watch historical documentaries, even if they involve LVM rulers, because usually their behavior catches up with them eventually.

The only difference between Carol and all the 17 year old “husbands” and “wives” those predators took advantage of is Carol took over her husbands farm and turned it into an empire. Everyone on that show was batshit bonkers. Carole and her third husband included. Nearly every single person in that show have issues with self worth.

There is no argument here that the men focused on the show are vile and disgusting predators, however, Carole Baskin is just as self-serving with her hypocritical and patronizing altruism. This is someone who may have killed her former husband and fucked over his first wife and children even after his death. Just because she is more articulate and poised than everyone else does not mean she is above the rest of them.
