If I’ve learned anything from life or FDS, it’s men are the biggest gaslighters and projectors:

only broke men or men (like this one) who benefit financially from being with a woman talk about goldiggers
only men with nothing to offer an adult woman take relationship benefits but withhold commitment (their only bargaining chip)
only ugly men call women ugly

And the list goes on... the main takeaway is this if a man is repeatedly calling you something or won’t give you what you’ve begged and pleaded for. Move the f-k on and know it says more about his own insecurities then it does about you.

I have a friend whose lawyer hubby divorced her “out of the blue” (he was cheating). She had been a SAHM PTA mom and he emptied the bank accounts and also moved his 401k before he filed to make it look like he had fewer assets. His whole law firm turned up to present for him and she couldn’t afford an attorney. It was a whole team of lawyers against a SAHM. She was now working minimum wage, sharing a cheap apartment with a roommate and lost custody of their kids since she didn’t even have a room for them. She was devastated. 😔She was awarded half the equity in the house but to date, he has never paid it. She can’t even pay to get an attorney to fix that.
Note to all ladies: have your own account and your own money and NEVER EVER underestimate how low a man will sink. Most do not have the capacity for empathy and will sleep just fine when they force you to become homeless. Protect yourself because he won’t.

I actually know a woman going through something similar. Her son and daughter are so mean to her and call her a gold-digger. Imagine giving up on your dream and careers to take care of a man and yours kids to than have them all turn on you when you want to be taken care off. I feel so bad for these women. Self-sacrifice ain't worth it.

This sounds like a play by play script out of Betty Broderick's life (based on true story, it's on netflix season 2 of Dirty John), I wonder if the guy in that post watched this series and took inspiration as a fellow lawyer. In the docu-series, Betty gave up her career and became a SAHM to support her husband to become a doctor AND lawyer (again, true story). And decades later he cheats on her with a paralegal, takes their kids away and gaslighted and degraded her to drive her literally crazy. There was one disgusting scene where the cheating husband with his lawyer friends, sits together plotting ways to ensure that the wife gets almost nothing compared to his actual wealth, which was what happened.

These stories are why it's so important as a woman to have your own career and financial independence so if things were to go wrong, you have your own backfall. You can never truly know your husband (or anyone)'s true intentions. Plus people change all the time, in this case all the power got to those men's heads and made them believe they are better than their wives and forgot their sacrifices. Always protect yourself first.

Y’all know what? Screw it. Enough of this crap about not using kids as weapons and being the bigger person. Should she deliberately use her kid as a pawn? No, but she needs to get a handle on his little ass before he treats women like crap as a result of what he sees here.

Let daddy and his new wife have them as primary and she can pay child support. Be the every other weekend Disney parent. If daddy wants out of that arrangement, he can be the bad guy and explain that he wants to bang new younger girlfriend instead of caring for his kids.

If these kids keep up with this “gold digger” shit unchallenged, society will pay the price.

Aw hell no! This is why you never bandy about trying to be nice when a man moves out to find himself b-lls deep in another woman or whatever. If she's US-based, she's already given up so much legal leverage trying to take the high road. Him moving out without a custody schedule laid out in a formal separation agreement could've been considered abandonment and put him at a massive disadvantage. And that's only one example.

For any US ladies looking at a possible divorce, get to a lawyer. Yesterday. Take a few days off work if you have to. Make a list of the top family law attorneys in your area & do a consult with as many as you can. Don't worry about the cost at this point because they often offer a flat rate initial consult. Just do it. Not only will you get several high-quality opinions on your case, you will also take those lawyers out of the potential pool of representation for your soon to be ex. (Conflict of interest, they can't talk to him if they've already talked to you.) And don't shy away from the best lawyers due to their hourly rate. The $600 an hour litigator who plays golf with the judge on weekends will end up cheaper in the long run than the $150 an hour lawyer because they'll get you a favorable settlement in a fraction of the time. Whichever spouse who makes the most usually ends up covering the other's legal fees, anyway.

Whenever my dad had an affair me and my siblings took my moms side immediately and basically stopped talking to my dad altogether. My mom taught us loyalty and I dont understand kids who can't even stand by the woman who gave them life. Gross.
