Woman, who justifyingly k*lled pedophile step-father in self-defense after he tortured her for years, thankfully walks free, as she should! We're coming for you, evil bastards!
There, I fixed the damn headlines.

I don't like that literally every other adult failed this woman throughout her life until literally this year, but the fact that some people are trying to make her mother to be the "bigger monster" than the actual abusove shithole man responsible for all this in the first place makea me feel queasy. No, I have no sympathy for her PickMe mother, but her PickMe mother is still not worse than the actual man who caused all the abuse.
[β]pinksamosaFDS Newbie 95 points96 points97 points 5 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
The mom is being made out to be the monster is because she is the one supposed to protect her child. The man in question is an evil predator no doubt, but the pickme mom did have the power to make it stop but simply enabled and encouraged it. Both of them are vile demons.

Just this week there was a post on Reddit from a mother who had to hand over her kids three days a week to her self-professed pedophile ex. She was even ordered by the judge not to warn the poor girls they would be in danger. How can women protect their children under these circumstances? Many lose custody if they try.
[β]pinksamosaFDS Newbie 35 points36 points37 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
First of all it is insulting to compare the mother who tried everything in her capacity to save her children from her pedophile ex to the mother who actively allowed the raping of her child. The law and the world are not on womenβs side and things are unfair in general . But What anybody can do is at least try to protect their kids and not hand them to demons who will simply abuse them till no end.
[β]UnstrirringCoffeeFDS Apprentice 27 points28 points29 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I wasn't comparing the two. But are we absolutely certain that the mom simply handed over her child? The mom from the other story will likely end up looking bad as well. Often times there is abuse involved of the mother as well as the child.
I am reluctant to blame moms for failing to protect their children. It could she didn't care, but it could be equally possible she did not know how to stop it.
We are all raised as pickme's. I too have been guilty of thinking and saying that women "owe" a men simply because he did something nice for her. It took radical feminism to teach me how messed up that is for both myself aswell as for the women I said it too. Does that make me a monster? Just like the guys who took advantage of our pliability before we got wiser?
I do not want to blame the person who, for whatever reason, failed to protect, as much as the perpatrator himself. He deserves at least 90% of the blame.
I do make a distinction in women who actively work to "acquire" victims for male predators, such as Eppstein. But as for "actively allowing", what does that even mean?
[β]Disastrous_Fig_464 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This type of fake feminism refuses to hold abusive and neglectful moms accountable. It's the "I'm a strong single mother, you need to show me respect" trope. My mom did it but she was abusing me behind closed doors while pretending to the world she was a saint. She was a woke feminist type who believes she cannot be responsible for anything

I remember watching some Netflix true crime series about women killers. And honestly, no matter how hard they tried to make me hate them, I just felt bad. One girl got convinced by her much older boyfriend that she had to find out information about another girl, so the first girl tortured the second to death. And it was horrible, but the girls were both fifteen and this man was the only person whoβd ever loved her. The system failed her first. The second girl killed her abusive father to protect her younger sister after he went to get a weapon to murder them both. She even said that she didnβt care that she was in prison because at least in there a man couldnβt hurt her. The third girl killed her mother who had munchausen by proxy like gypsy rose Blanchard and her mother had been poisoning her for years. In each case, regardless if it was right, each girl thought she was going to either die or lose everything. It was tragic. These women needed help, not prison.

I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts. They always say that for men the motive is usually sexual or to have power (which is also often sexual) and for women it's usually financial gain. And then they tell the actual stories and almost every single woman on there has been abused or sold or had her life threatened by the man/men she killed. Almost every single one of them. And at the end of each episode I'm supposed to be like "good thing they locked her up for life instead of getting her the help she needs".

Even when reading about Aileen Wuornos, my dominant emotions were sadness and pity. Something I hadn't experienced with male murderers. Most of her victims were men who solicited sex from her.

It took me a while, I had to go through my Netflix viewing history to track down the title, but it was Women Behind Bars, and the woman whose mother had MbP was Jennifer Blake. She claimed her mother violently abused her, allowed men to molest her, and that her boyfriend, who was obsessed with her, had been living in their shared house and killed her mom. He claims she talked him into killing her mother together. I remember her explaining that her mother basically wouldn't let her leave her home except to go to work, where she met her boyfriend. The officer who arrested her claimed she was an unrepentant sociopath, but they always say that about women who protect themselves or aren't sorry their abuser died. Cops have been proven to misread or misunderstand female grief so much that there are multiple famous lawsuits of women wrongfully convicted simply because an officer decided she wasn't sad the "right" way.

When men cry βwhy can women get away with everything and not get in troubleβ and purposely ignore stats like this. Maybe, women arenβt constantly on the news for crimes, not because itβs a huge elaborate society wide cover up, but becauseβ¦women are committing less crimes than men?
Also I forget what I was just watching but some dad tried to beat up a guy that abused his daughter in front of the judge with no charges. And men have killed other men for hurting their daughters, no charges. But when women stand up for themselves after however long, they need to be punished further?
[β]wonkyeyes8877FDS Newbie 73 points74 points75 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yes, scrotes get mad at us when we seem to not end up harshly punished for crimes even when the crime is defense. There's something called a "p#$$y pass" that scrotes cry about and use as fuel for their hatred of us, but they purposefully forget about the male cops and male judges who allegedly give women these so-called pass. After all, men still have the power over this too.
But scrotes don't see it that way. To them, it's our fault we got hit, it's our fault we fought back, and it's our fault we weren't sent to jail for it.
[β]Equal-Ear2312FDS Apprentice 39 points40 points41 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
And the women who come beaten up in the police stations and are not being believed, only for the DV to escalate? Sure... It's our mighty p##y pass that does it. And true, women are judged more harshly and given overall, worse penalties.

And when a woman DOES commit violent crimes or abuse her partner, itβs going to be on the front page of all SM and much mainstream media for months. Itβs going to have a podcast specifically about the few women who do those crimes called βBlack Widowβ or βWomen Behind Barsβ or some porny sounding title. Itβs going to be a remarkable spectacle that men canβt stop focusing on and bringing up by name, because it rarely happens.

[β]cherryspacesongFDS Newbie 190 points191 points192 points 5 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Itβs because they donβt think itβs in a womanβs nature, they think itβs so much more cold blooded. They punish so severely because they know that if women regularly responded to extreme abuse with murder then millions of men would be killed. Itβs not justice itβs a deterrent.

This reminds me of this post that I saw on a subreddit that is similar to oursβIβm not sure if I should mention the name of it, Iβm not sure how the rules go about that here. But it was saying how witches, in medieval ages. Were actually women rebelling against the system that men made for them. Women/the witches realized back then that they didnβt want to be used for sex anymore, they didnβt want to compile to menβs selfish desires. So, they made a rebellion, a group of sorts. Where they lived for themselves, which ended up.. angering the men very much to where they ended up killing them, painting up a bad name of them. That they were using black magic or whatever the fuck. To justify murdering them, for rejecting their sexual advances. Woman were literally fighting for their sexual freedoms, for their own selves. And men got mad at it, so mad in fact. That they cut off their heads for it. Crazy huh. Men are fucking unhinged animalistic people.
[β]why_is_my_nameFDS Newbie 106 points107 points108 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Two other important reasons men labeled women as witches and killed them: 1) Land. It was very unusual for women to have their own land, and if a woman came into some, it was often because there were no living male relations it could have gone to which meant no living male relations to protect her. Women were easy targets. Men wanted some land? They burned the woman who owned it as a witch. 2) Medicine. Before the advent of medicine as we know it, it was women who understood how to combine certain plants in order to make healing "potions". Chemistry and medicine were the domain of women. When males took over the field, they murdered the women with the knowledge that men were claiming to uniquely possess.

Yup. Men have always been stealing ideas from us for as long as eons have existed. Itβs sadly nothing new, I doubt itβll ever change. Even with copyright laws. Men are inevitably still bound to taking creativity for their own selfish capitalism mindsets. Look at the African woman who originally thought up of the matrix, She had her idea stolen by two capitalist white boys. It makes me wonder how many fields were actually women-oriented before men came crashing in to claim it as theirs. Edit: also thank you for telling us more of what used to happen back in the dark ages. I only got a gist of it when I first saw it on that subreddit I mentioned.
[β]-badmadAMFDS Apprentice 22 points23 points24 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Chemistry and medicine
Let's not forget everything related to pregnancy and child- birth. Males forcefully took over that field as well after burning women at the stakes and forcing them out of any medical role... (must be something to do with control or womb envy, idk who tf understands the collective male psyche). Mothers were SO much more worse off after males took over that field, in many ways, but also thanks to their catastrophic hygienic standards. Did you know that midwifes before actually used to wash their hands? I took women again just to teach the medical professionals the necessity of basic hygiene. (Nightingale, "James" Barry aka. Margaret Ann Bulkley, etc.)

It's almost as of they encourage dv towards women and helped normalize it.
Oh wait, they did normalize it!
"A woman was raped, murdered, abducted etc"
But by whom? They push this rhetoric in passive voice all the time.
Why not say it: "man raped/..../.... woman"?
Why is that hard?
Also... "Violence against women"...
It should be " violence committed by men"...
The sickness has been protected by the people at the top, the lawmakers, the lobbyists, the enfircers...
[β]MissAndryApparentlyFDS Newbie 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
On your third example, the reason they canβt do that is because men commit virtually all of the violence against the men, too, so they have to specify by the victim to talk about womenβs oppression.

The same is true for every marginalized group. They more privilege you have the less likely you are to get sentenced and if you do get sentenced, the sentence is likely to be less. This can be seen in prisons throughout the world.
[β]hiraethsidharthaFDS Newbie 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Those stats are so interesting. I grew up in a place where the female prison population is higher than others. I didn't realise that the amount of women in prison for serious crime in the UK was actually really low in comparison to men because of this.
I was in my twenties when I found out that it wasn't normal for women to be imprisoned as much as men were.
Obviously where I'm from is totally rife with poverty, and heroin addiction.
On the other end of the spectrum, I have three friends out of nearly 100 from my late childhood / early teenage years that actually went to university. Only one is a woman.
When we look at these statistics we have to think about it through a lens of class awareness.
I am really lucky that I grew up with parents that encoraged learning outside of school. This is something I can pass a little bit of on to every young girl I meet now.
It is so hard to claw out independence and not to be constantly hand to mouth if you've got the cards firmly stacked against you from the get go.
Especially if you end up in a relationship (often out of what feels like necessity) with a man who wishes to do you harm or control and project his inadequacies onto you.

French here. I had a hard time finding articles about her the other day but essentially the mom enabled this horror. After her daughter was raped by her own husband as a kid, convicted, and sent to jail, the mom would take the daughter to visit him in jail and then let him come back to live with him. (The husband then left her for her daughter).
Never forget that pickmes and lack of boundaries can destroy other womenβs lives. He had already raped his own sister, terrorized is siblings, pushed his dad to die of suicide by the way. His brother was interviewed and said βno one would miss himβ.

I've also read some articles in french, I feel like they are much more detailed, and many articles in English portray the situation in an understated manner omitting the magnitude of abuse this woman and her kids suffered. What stuck with me is that "tout le monde savait" (everybody knew) that's the title of the book telling her story. The police knew and sent her kids back home to bring her to the station when they tried to get help. The bystanders. The family. So many people looked the other way when they could have done something to help her.

Interesting language they're using, they've put the crime in very bold phrasing before the fact that these were criminals they did this to. I've noticed that when it's a male killer it usually goes like this " female victim who was shot by male perpetrator" or other variations of this. Usually distancing the male from the crime and using softer language, here the language is harsher and they directly say what these women did in a negative tone, when describing their actions.
Now you might not notice this, but you do feel it. The word usage here makes the reader feel negative towards these women, where as there is a more sympathetic tone when speaking of male perpetrators. Misogyny coulours all facets of life and manipulates us to see women in a harsher light.

Yes. Language has done a trip. Everything has been softened to create a more bening perception of the act in people's minds. And it's always used exclusively with men, and with women it's always with negative tone and connotations. It's a real thing that really alters the way you yourself perceive things and how you judge others. Every media source conditions you to think like this when you look at people.

It's the same tactic used when they report white males who commit hate crimes. For example, look at how Robert Aaron Long was humanized after killing 8 people (6 Asian women). He was having a 'bad day' and deflected the issue to his sex addiction.
