I don’t actually believe in asking men to do things for me. It’s a part of “getting to know each other” phase. Birthdays, special occasions are important for me and I make it very clear then. Different people will have different preferences obviously, but understanding what is important to your partner is just the bare minimum really.

If you find yourself having to ask “please plan something for my birthday” after some time being together it’s time to leave. Regardless if he follows through or not. He should be planning it, because he knows it’s important to you (without an annual/monthly/weekly reminder).

When everything is spelled out for them and expectations are communicated clearly, people actually have to put effort into ignoring their partner and sucking this much. It's really sad. He would rather actively ignore and hurt his partner, than go buy some flowers and plan a nice dinner. It's seriously not hard and doesn't even cost much to do. Most restaurants even have a Valentine's Day menu already planned, some even have extras like flowers and wine that you can add to the order for gods sake. All you have to do is call ahead and make reservations or do curb side pick up.

So lazy and gross.

Why is she obligated to plan everything? Is he such a helpless manchild he can't think for himself and make plans? Why does she have to TELL HIM to do something? People don't need to tell me to do things for Holidays, I'm enough of an adult I can do it on my own. This is embarrassing.

She needs to leave him. This is shameful. She doesn't deserve to feel this way nor be treated this way. If he cared, he would.
