This always pisses me right off. My husband never complains and just hides when he is sick. And I am the weenie who feels better if I complain a little. But you know what? Every person is different. It has nothing to do with our genetalia. I really hate it when women put down men for having feelings and getting hurt or sick. They are humans too, they are allowed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've been led to believe that "that time of the month" can make women feel sick. Stomach aches and so forth.

If you want a true answer, I suppose you have to filter those days off in your research, which I doubt anyone has.

Higher estrogen = more immunity. Was running letro during a cycle and I got sick as a motherf- since letro is an aromatase inhibitor and I got my estrogen really low.

Personally, I think it's more how you handle the illness. If I'm sick, I'm aggressively trying to get better by drinking fluids and sleeping. Sure, I'm out for a day or two, but I don't have this lingering malaise that I've seen far too often when people "tough it out." Good on you for making everyone else miserable because you don't want to seem weak by getting healthy.

I find it interesting how both facts are true, men have significantly lower white bloodcell counts both in circulation and reserve, but men also take a lot less sick leave and from my own anecdotal observation get sick a lot less.

I just want everyone to know that who cares who takes more sick days, IF YOU ARE SICK PLEASE TAKE A FUCKING SICK DAY, I DON'T CARE IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT, DON'T MAKE EVERYONE ELSE (if you can't afford to be sick, your coworkers probably can't afford to get sick) SICK TOO.

Going to work sick is nothing to brag about, it's an asshole thing to do, no matter what gender you are.
