I actually just got data on this. It's somewhat hyperbole, but it turned out to be mostly true. Women have two "walls." For women, it's 30 and 50. At 50, female sexual value is essentially zero.

The wall for men is 40, and then it has an almost non-existent decline to 50 that stays flat all the way out. That is to say that from the age of 40 on, men are more attractive than women, generally, in terms of the gender power dynamic until they die.

I have to spend some more time sorting out 30-35ish for women before I'll comment further between these ages. But the wall at 30 was absolutely true. Men being more attractive than women later in life was absolutely true. Men not getting hit as hard by age was true.

The idea that men "get better" with age is false. The idea that men have more sexual power than women later in age, is absolutely true.

I speculate at this point the attraction curves follow fertility\virility.

The problem with your reasoning is that men have more markers for attractiveness than women, and the others may correlate positively with age.
Also: the most fundamental perk (evolutionary speaking) a woman can bring to the table is her fertility. And regardless of how awesome and high-value a woman is, at the age of 45 she'll be outmatched by pretty much all (fertile, non-disabled) 20 year olds. High-quality 45 yo men on the other hand can potentially outmatch the vast majority of 20 yo men: they can fight, lead, provide, and sire kids. Maybe they can't do all of that stuff as well as the younger version of themselves or the current top males, but they certainly can still be better than the vast majority of young men.

strawman. no one says this. when RP says a man's SMV peaks in his 30s, it's assuming that he is constantly making an effort to improve his SMV. obviously if you're a complete fuckup at life with a beer belly and bad comb over, your SMV is going to be garbage no matter how old you are.

the reason male SMV peaks later than women's is because male SMV is NOT based entirely on looks. looks are part of it, but so are things like status, attitude, social acumen, confidence, etc.

if a man isn't a complete fuckup, he shouldn't look significantly worse in his mid to late 30s than he did when he was in his early 20s. but he should be significantly MORE successful, confident, and experienced with women. and the overall effect of this is that his SMV increases over time and doesn't really start to decline until his looks start to decline or he stops being able to socially relate to younger girls and starts acting like an old man.

and unlike women, male good looks aren't directly linked to youthfulness and neoteny. male good looks are based on signalling masculinity, strength, physical dominance, height, muscularity, etc. and aging doesn't really negatively affect those things nearly as bad as aging affects women's looks

This is true. It's true for several reasons concerning how male and female attraction differ, and these reasons reinforce each other to give this change in "balance of power" in the dating market.

First, womens preferences for males are moderately up in age while mens preferences are for women in their early 20's. This by itself makes a huge difference for 16-20 year old men.

All the chicks they're interested in.... they're competing against the whole 18-30 yo cohort of men for. So those women have lots of attention and lots of choices.

At the same time, as women are reluctant to date down in age.... When you're 16-18 you don't have the benefit of a sexually active cohort dating "up" to you, as those girls are 16-14.

So around that age (16-19 or so) you have the least amount of women interersted in your age cohort you'll ever have.... whilst those women have the widest choice of other men interested in them they'll ever have.

This is just one of the reasons. There are about another 2 or 3 whilst the balance of power changes markedly for men. In less detail, women face a strict biological time limit that men don't, and that starts to have an effect 30-35 and gets very string 35-40. So at that time, women trying to date men their age or slightly older are less picky and more "desperate" too.

Finallly, as women look ideally for "quality" men, the men who are still on the market aged 30-40 are increasingly more valuable as mates. As they're an increasingly shrinking part of the pie as more and more of their "quality" peers are no off the market having got married late-20's and early-30's. The ones left find themselves increasingly in demand from the remaining women.

There are valid reasons to believe that whats being described is true, and not a result of such wishful thinking. We can point to data and other objective methods that would back that up, and it's very much the lived anecdotal experience of guys who stayed on the market over this whole period that their market consistently got bigger and easier to navigate.

What happens is.... The number of females interested in you gets larger, because your pool gets bigger.... The females in that pool are much more willing to compromise on quality than they were, because their biological clock is ticking.... and your competition decreases as the high quality men are preferentially removed from the market by that point as they get "snapped up" and married off early in their late 20's and early 30's.

So your opportunities are greater, they're easier to realise, and the best competitors for the remaining women are removed.

Yes, this is true. This argument only works if you maintain your level of quality relative to your peers.... if your level of quality gets worse, that makes your chances worse. Just like it does for everyone else.

It's just that if you roughly maintain parity with your peers (your beer gut is no bigger than everyone elses, you're no more bald then your high-school classmates, you're no more a corporate drone than any other guy) then your situation vastly improves as the situation of the market, and the females changes radically as they start the approach to 40.

Well, not really. If you stay on the "same arc" you were following at 20 you're almost certainly better off.

If you were a medical student at 20, you are a doctor by 30.

If you were a new graduate starting a corporate job at 21, you'll be a manager or department head at 30 or 35.

If you were a brand new minted lawyer at 21, you could be a partner at 35.

If you were a trainee plumber at 20, you could easily have your own business and be a self-employed and well setup business owner at 30.

And so on.

It's true that if you completely flatline you are worse off.... the guy stacking shelves at 30 is worse off than the same guy stacking them at 20.... but it's not as if we're advising you to flatline and no-one else will either.

Guys know they need to move on and up. And the advice above is generally given in the context of explicitly telling them they've got to continue to improve their situation over this period career wise.

No, they're not. The guys who "did well in their 20's" got snapped up by a girl, put a sing on it, and generally got married by 28-30-32. Girls preferentially want those high quality guys for marriage, and they get snapped up and taken off the market. There are very, very few of these left by the time they hit 35.

Hence the "Where have all the good men gone ?" lament of women late into their 30's. The answer is "All the good ones got snapped up earlier".

By the time he's 35 that same girl has a much smaller market. She' not dating up and past him anymore. This makes it easier for him.

At 25 she had the pick of all the guys 20-35. At 35 she's only got the "pick" of guys 35-40.

And lastly, even if it's true women age like milk; the average guy ages like horseshit.

Again, thats not true. Human attraction instincts have a very hard cut-off for females around the 40 mark. Women approching this mark at say 35-40 are seeing their attractiveness to same age peers declining extremely rapidly (as those men turn their eyes downwards to the 30-35 girls). Female maarkers of attractivness are almost all related to youth. She's losing them.

Men don't have that same cliff edge at 40. They have a general slow decline from 35 that extends all the way out to 55. Male markers of attractiveness are not nearly so closely tied to youth. They're tied to other things.

This is the result of the human oddity of a menopause for females around 40. Our innate genetic instincts are keyed to this with male attraction to females (genetically, there is no point at all being attracted to over 40 women). Females attraction works differently as men don't have a girl-o-pause.

As you can see.... every man looks attractive to his same age female peers. Mens relative position in regards to his dating pool doesn't change much as he ages. He's always the most attractive age for his opposite sex peers.

As women age.... they get progressively less and less attractive to those peers, so those men increasingly look down 1-2-3-5 or more years for their dates.

Women have value regardless just by default so they don't need to worry about being useless, so saying they age like milk is laughable.

Women over 40 see their default value drop to 0 almost overnight.

That means women approaching 40 say from 30-35 see it declining really rapidly. Much more so than do men of that age.

Women's "Value" is at it's peak when she's aged about 21.... it stays stable to about 28.... then it declines gradually until about 33.... then it declines faster and faster to approx. 0 at 45.

So it's an early peak with a downward slope of varying degrees that hits bottom at 40-45.

Mens is different. He's quite low value at 18. Almost no girls older than 18 are interested. It goes up gradually to about 22. Then it goes up rapidly to about 28 which is the males peak. It then stays at that high level roughly until 35. then declines in a long gradual slope out to about 55. Only really reaching 0 around 65 or so.

So women peak very early. And then decline from there.

Guys start in a bad place, improve over their 20's, peak later, and then start a much longer and slower decline.

I will not change your view, as it's enough to look around to see your statement is true. but I think I know where this myth comes form. Men's relationship success is more polarized. More men will never be in a relationship, and more men will have 2 (the effect of this is visible in that more women than men have been married at some point in their life, which otherwise would be mathematically impossible). There is a percentage of men who have 2 lives. They have one family in their 20's, and another family at 40. This created the illusion that men in general are still somewhat desirable when old. But on the other side there are the guys who never even entered one relationship (of course redpill conveniently believes they are not in that group, but they are exactly it). So it's not that men stay desirable, it's just that the ones who already HAD a relationship success will be able to still enter another.

How about beer and milk? Beer doesn't get better with age, but it certainly lasts longer than milk.

And it absolutely gets easier as you get older if you're a man. But that doesn't take you from incel to player. It gets you from "able to find a girlfriend with a bit of effort", to "can have more than one of that's your thing".

And of course, being lame is still lame. Start losing hair? Shave that head. Got a gut? Get your ass to the gym. Boring dude with a boring job? Get mountain bike and check out what ski areas are used for in the summer. Or get a friggin motorcycle.

I'm close to mid 30's - I have a full head of thick hair, good beard, fit and look the same as my mid 20's but more masculine and confident, most people guess me at 20's- the only change getting older? I get looks from women of all age ranges but MOSTLY younger girls around 20.

The girls I've know since school? - all either fat, wrinkly and definitely look over 30 and no longer getting dates.

I attract much more than I ever have in my life and it feels like I'm only just beginning. I don't care much for 'careerism' and some job to define me, as long as I make money to do what I want and work on hobbies - and I wouldn't want my bank account is to define my status or attraction or 'success'. Men can constantly reinvent themselves / change careers and build their way in business or a venture and make their way in life up to 60 years old

It's true because women can appreciate men for more than their looks and they overlook signs of aging.

1.They want to settle down soon and are prioritising other things and they know it's unlikely they'll get the whole package (young, husband material, rich).

2.Women are more indulgent with men's looks after they've been in a LTR with a man for years. To some extent, men are the same towards wives who've treated them well.

3.Desperation and laziness. She needs money and a roof over her head and doesn't want to work.

The main difference is men can have babies when they get older while women go infertile. Men get more confident with age; women more bitter.

For some women, an ugly but fertile and confident partner will do just fine.

However I'd say the principles are true in the current dating world. Average single guys in their twenties struggle , average single guys in their thirties have a much easier time.

Women probably do age worse overall. Having babies unfortunately has a big effect on their body and they don't have the time to keep it together like they used to. The good news is single women in their thirties still look good.

But how women age doesn't need to matter that much. All men need to know is they don't need to commit, they don't need to settle when they're young if they don't want to.

It can be a useful saying though, if you want to wind up the sensitive.

You are making the same mistake that many women usually do in thinking that men and women are looking for the same thing in their romantic partners. Youth and beauty has far more overall importance to a man when seeking a woman than a woman seeking a man. Not that women don't consider looks, but this is because women also demand so many other things beyond just looks (after all, women find 80% of men unattractive while men rate women on a standard bell curve). He can't just be handsome, he also has to make six figures, own his own home, drive a nice car, and on and on and on. Even the Chads among young men typically can only make it in the looks department and need time to acquire those other things. You've also got the beta bucks phenomenon where the 30 or so year old woman settles down with a beta for his money and utility, not so much his looks. This is very, very common. This hardly ever happens the other way around. When you consider that, the saying is not that off.

Now what I would say is that for the average man who thinks he can just rest on his laurels and hit the jackpot when he is in his thirties, that will not happen. To increase his SMV into his 30s the man needs to work hard to get there. Work on building his career and making a lot of money. Staying fit, working out. Avoiding losing his hair. And so on. The basement dweller who weighs 250 pounds, was bald at 25 and plays video games all day will see his already minute SMV go down even worse when he's in his 30s.

This is basically it. According to you, for women, men (male persons themselves, not what they can provide) are absolutely useless; if a man in his 30-40s is a walking wallet, then a man in his 20s with abs - is a walking dildo. Women aren't loving, adoring, and cherishing "their" men in relationships - they're bargaining.

If a woman wants to be pursued, men in their 30s are more likely to understand it; if a woman wants to be spoiled, men with 5+ years of career behind their backs have (on average) more money than fresh college graduates; if a woman is at least to some extent "family-oriented", then a man with his own house will probably impress her more than a man without. Men in their 30s objectively have higher bargaining power.

And if by "value by default" you mean fertility, then women's tendency to lose it rapidly within a certain expiration period window - is exactly what we call "aging like milk".

 The science shows that in dating, at first the number one thing men are looking for is physical beauty, which starts to fade in women between 25-30. Women tend to care about men's social status, their passions, their job, and their wealth a lot more than men care about these things in women. So a low value man at 18 could be a successful engineer with lots of passions and a budget that affords nice clothes by 30, while a woman who looks average at 20 will have fading looks by her 30s and will have a much harder time getting a date. When talking about dating, if single or divorced in their 30s, obviously nether will be likely to date 20 year olds, but men don't have a ticking biological clock to worry about either.

I dunno. Guys as they get older who are attractive seem to have a larger age gap as they get older. I have way more guy friends dating women 10, 15 or 20 years younger then them, then women doing the same.

Maybe its just that its rare to find guys in good shape then women, but I dont have many friends who are women who are dating a guy older then them.

I did have one friend who was dating a guy younger then the guy her daughter was dating , but outside of that nope.

Black and Asian men do much more, and gay/bi guys too who focus on skincare. Women overall age better and look younger imo because of taking care of their skin and using sunscreen.

A lot of truth to this. Older men just are not attractive. Their face gets leathery, they develop a beer gut, and their muscle mass declines even if they continue to hit the gym. “Men age like wine” is just another silly male revenge fantasy because they age more like bologna left in the sun. I really don’t see much difference in how women age vs men. Men can grow beards to hide the face and that’s about the only difference.

This is partly true and partly untrue. Data has shown that men of nearly any age find women who are about 20 to be most attractive, while women's preference for men scales with their own age. So as a 30 year old guy, you'll find it easier to get women your own age, but harder to get the women you actually want. Women past 25 have trouble finding a guy because the guys they're into are still chasing 20 year olds.
