0.8% match rate for the average guy on Tinder. This is, frankly, a problem of hideous women thinking that they're better looking than they actually are.

I used to model, I get like a 15-20% match rate, where I'm already settling and having to put in more work for 7/10s online than I have to for 8-10/10s offline.

Most men on OLD don't have high standards. In fact, the only standards many have is respond to their first messages. You clearly don't know the sacristy a lot of men have on OLD. Most men can't afford to have high standards to begin with.

In practice both genders try to shoot way out of their league. Women think most men are a few points less attractive than they are, so they think they're 'settling' for just above average guys who in reality as way above average. Men are at least more honest that they want the best of the best.

There is the first flaw.
How many women really message first? I agree that a lot of those messaging first are rather grounded, but these are a minority on dating apps. The infamous study is also years old. The mentality shifted. I don't see girls messaging as often as they did in the pre-2010 to early 2010 period.

There's even a newer study saying girls don't initiate often but get more attractive men if they do initiate.

It's true that women seem to have a healthier pattern if and only if they do initiate. But these are a minority compared to men.
Standards have probably risen by a fair bit since the exploding popularity of apps such as Snapchat and TikTok.

This is a very toxic and unpersuasive debate strategy. First of all, let's address the hypergamy thing: Hypergamy is a widely accepted phenomenon in anthropology as well as psychology. Hell, I literally just had a psych class at a woke-AF university and this was literally in the textbook, and on tests. Declaring hypergamy to be a myth is to defy the academic literature, recent survey data, as well as common sense.

Second, let's address the overall claim. You take issue with one claim out of one study. Unfortunately, the study from OKCupid was one piece of data collected from a plethora of sources. Even if your point was valid, there's tons of polls, surveys, studies, and data pointing to the exact same conclusion. Spiking the football on this is weak, and especially since you admit in the post that women find 80% of men "worse than average."

That literally is all you need to know to prove the point, and it's not "incel" it's just reality: Women think most men are below average looking.

The way men treat women they are not attracted to is nightmarefuel. I can tell you this first hand, many women in my communities can tell you first hand. Them being neutral and acting like you don't exist is the more positive end of this and it feels like shit. No thanks, let these kings run FDS game -- aim high and be willing to stay single. Online dating doesn't work for men. Women aren't even looking for relationships online anyways, they are looking for (at most) sex with Chad, or just easy validation and ego masterbation.

By OLD, you're just helping a bunch of low value women feel they are worth more than they really are. Get out in the real world, it's better there.
