Hey guys,

This is something I've only recently realized. Especially, an app like Bumble which paints itself as "female empowerment."

However, I have found out that the ratio in Bumble its something like 76% Male and 24% Female. That's a big difference, it seems most of the "mainstream dating apps" are somewhere along those lines.

It's similar to Marvel Movies were their whole marketing is all, "Female Superheroes!" But core audience is male.

Many of these "mainstream apps" tend to be initially free. Then as you join you need to pay for all kinds of boosts to help you get anywhere.

To me it seems like the whole purpose of the app is keep promising guys that they might get match the more money they put into the app. Similarly to "dating coaches" they keep telling you to invest more and more in their products.

It seems the dating apps that are more "niche" like Sugar apps or upfront paying apps, would be the one's were theirs more favorable female to male ratios.

What do you guys think?
