HIV is not what i would be worried about, Your odd's of contracting HIV from a random women are in the millions. Hell even if she does have HIV your odds are around 1 in 10000 per act. Herpes on the other hand has a 70 percent infection rate even with condoms.

Alternately, IF you're in an LTR and are talking about birth control options: bring up the copper IUD. Nonhormonal so it's not going to cause mood swings, effective for ten years, and pretty much no room for user-end error. The IUD obviously doesn't protect from STDs but as far as preventing pregnancy it's one of the most effective methods aside from sterilization.

Unless there are new studies that have published, as a straight man that does not use IV drugs your chances of getting HIV are essentially 0. Now if you are having sex with women that are in these high risk catagories - 1)they have sex with homosexual men and/or 2)use IV drugs, then yes, you are very much in danger. But really lets aim for a higher caliber of woman.

I mean, this is good advice and all, but I probably won't follow it. I've had chlamydia, hurts like a bitch but it's gone in a few days. I figure most people have herpes already anyway, and it's asymptomatic in most people so if I was going to get it I probably already would have.

I typically rely on pulling out, but on safe days (just before period/just after) I'll play it a little fast and loose.
