When they say they want you to "Be a gentleman" and "open up to them", or when they say they want a guy who "checks in and makes sure they got home safely", what they really mean is they want you to punch another dude in the face if he hits on her (To "prove you're better". Women don't even know what they want..but they know what they don't want. They don't want a mate that appears weaker than them, or that they think they can be superior to or able to "break". They don't want a guy who is clingy, and the more independent and less hung up a guy is on them, the crazier they get for him. Also, they want your money, and don't want other women to get your money. They want a guy who is so "Confident" that he borders on egotistical and narcissistic. Naturally, it helps to be good looking, too.

In short, the man has to be Strong, confident, dominant, unobtainable, wealthy, and attractive. You don't have to be ALL of these things at once to attract women, even just being three of them at once is more than ample. Even if you embody all three of these at once though, she'll still be willing to cheat if she starts to feel "too comfortable", and if the man shows a moment of weakness or vulnerability.. or if she simply thinks she can get away with it.

Our society in the west currently encourages the "Mcdonalds relationship", for both men and women.

Therapy for men has become a big talking point for leftist women lately, I've met many who legitimately believe that without therapy, men are toxic and unsuitable for a relationship. I'm an actual therapist (not an armchair one like many people on Reddit, I've done proper training). I've had more than a few clients that have had past traumatic relationships, both men and women. It doesn't matter whether the abuse was physical, sexual, or mental, the result is the similar. To all those clients I say "when you're thinking about getting into another relationship, take it slow". People who experience any kind of abusive relationship often end up with screwed up attachments. This can lead to them jumping into and out of relationships fast enough to give you whiplash, as well becoming overly clingy. They need to relearn how to form secure attachments and the best way to do that is to take relationships slowly.

My point is that this guy was actually doing what any decent therapist would tell him to do. Contrary to popular belief, therapy doesn't make the negative impact of traumatic experiences disappear. What it can do is help manage the negative impacts so that they don't overwhelm and ruin your life.

Also all relationships should be taken slow. Obviously not the point where it takes 5 years for you to say "I love you", but you shouldn't rush it. Pretty much everyone I know that rushed into their relationship (i.e dropped the love word within a week, moved in together within a couple of months, etc), the relationship failed. It's much better to take the time to properly get to know someone before you decide you love them. You can't love someone after a couple of weeks. You can be infatuated with them but that's not love.

This is like the blind date scene in the movie "Her". They have a great time, lots of chemistry, and are passionately making out by the end of the night. They both want sex at that point. But then she suddenly realizes "I've been here before". All her past pump & dumps flash before her eyes. She wants commitment according to fast-paced tight schedule, as soon as possible. He is not ready for any of that. He hasn't even signed his divorce papers yet and generally struggles to express himself emotionally.

I know a couple that started off casually, then he fell in love and wanted the full relationship, meet friends and family etc. She wasn't ready for the commitment yet, because he didn't look like marriage material to her, so she struggled for a while with how to navigate that. Then eventually she got to know him well enough and fell in love too. They're so great together, but imagine they had just blocked each other instead of just giving each other (and themselves) the room to figure it out

The FDS approach is just crazy harsh and formulaic. It often looks like a knee jerk overcorrection based on bad experiences
