Im going through something similar myself. Only thing is, when I text her it’s usually to make plans, and she never hesitates to say yes. Don’t know if she wants to lead me into being friends with benefits because of the way we act we in person or if she wants to have me as “backup” like OP says. Help!!

I agree completely. Used to talk to a girl, who was in a relationship. But her S/O was in another city. She used to respond instantly, call me in the mornings, we would chill, and do everything together for almost a year.

So her S/O moved near her now, and she’s not texting anymore lol. And she takes a while to respond. Since it was a professional environment although what she was doing wasn’t really professional, I didn’t want to encroach on any boundaries.

Point is a girl that’s interested in you, will respond instantly, and make time for you.

Tbh what you're saying might be true between the ages of 15-23. But when you hit your mid-30s... People are just emotionally blunted and life commitments take up a ton of your time. Work+Exercise+Relaxing+Friends and family.

And everyone's after someone that's out of their league. That's why you got to stay in decent contact with women, because when that 9 or 10 that they were simping after blows them off - they're going to be looking for comfort 😁.

But this "fall madly in-love" bs, that shit happens between the ages of 15 and 23 OR if you're severely outside your league - and then it won't be mutual.

I can use some anecdotal evidence to back this up. I was dating this Lawyer who sometimes worked until 11-12 pm. At the same time, she was exercising for some competitions and taking extra credits (more law) at the uni. She probably worked around 70-80h a week. She would text me back after 1-2 days usually. I felt the relationship wasn't going anywhere so I ended the dating. She then confessed that she was head over heels for me. People are different.

Busy people might not respond for a day or two, but when they do, they say, “I’m sorry I missed this text. I’ve been so busy. wanna hang?” This is FUNDAMENTALLY different from radio silence for over 2-3 days, or a huge gap period followed by a 1 word response or a dry sentence.

If you take everything you see on this sub literally, you’re destined to either miss the point or become the pettiest person alive.

Stick to your IOIs (indicators of interest), and you won’t be steered wrong. I promise you. If you're not a super good looking guy then you need to demonstrate some level value to get her invested and give her a reason to be attracted to you. Some guys do nothing to build attraction and try to get at girls with dry boring texts that make her feel like she's filling out an survey. "What are you doing? Where are you from? Do you have any pets? What do you do for fun? What is your favorite food? Etc."

Remained in touch, we have been texting daily for about two weeks straight but i notice now he will only text me once a day vs. a few times during the day.. will take that as he is losing interest. I have a thing for a girl who, when we meet in a group setting, is very attentive, seeks my proximity, laughs at my jokes, suggests things we could do (together with others).

If I then write her something, ideas what we two could to together, she takes a very long time to answer, answers evasively or doesn't answer at all. She has never written to me of her own accord. I have also stopped writing her anything in the meantime. She writes nothing. But when we meet in our group, she is always super open and friendly to me.

My conclusion: she is interested in casual friendship in a group setting, but nothing more.

If a girl does not text you back, something is very wrong. She will have the time. It may take even a day or two depending on the shit happening behind the scenes, but she will. If she blindly ignores your messages, something on you makes you a secondary or backup option, or even something darker may hide itself into that. While I think there is some merit to this I don't think it's always true. People like to show love and appreciation in different ways. The person I'm dating right now isn't a huge texter and at first I was like this girl isn't into me at all. But then she kept reaching out, kept taking initiative and scheduling dates. And now that we're together her texting habits haven't really changed but she still always puts in effort in her own way. Just my two cents but just remember n = 1.
