This is it. If you’re consistently finding that girls don’t like you, continue working on yourself and continue getting the reps in with girls.
The results will come if you put in the work.

To supplement this good answer, don't be a secluded monk until you think you are 'good enough'. Keep working, but also keep meeting people.
[–]SecondBornSaint 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Man, this comment hit me hard. I haven't tried initiating anything with any girl in about 3 years now because I've felt like I have nothing to really offer.
The mindset I've had for a while now has been "don't bother with dating until you X, Y, and Z. Until then, you won't be an attractive catch in their eyes."

I've missed out on some girls I had serious feelings/crushes on before literally because of this very reason. I'd not let it impede my romantic life so completely that I wasn't having casual sex or even relationships but I really do feel like I did miss out on this one girl I was really into because she did show some serious interest in me.
And it was for that reason that you've just said. That feeling of 'not cooked enough yet.' Her boyfriend at the time was really well-off, 6 foot something and was a model and I just thought 'eh, well, I can't compete with that.' I felt inferior, and that I could never match up. Wrong attitude. She broke up with him because she was really unhappy but by that time I'd found someone else (someone who I really loved, but I never really got over that 'missed opportunity').
This hit hard. Always take your shot so you know where you stand.

THIS. Guys do really need to work on their social skills alongside with their career, fitness and whatever they mean by "working on themselves".
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Big facts, by the time you finish improving yourself in other aspects your social skills might not be up to par to deal with the intricacies of dating especially in this era.
[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Truth, I did that for a while went all loner-monk training and shit, i made huge strides with working on myself (i had a pretty good foundation to start), but i got into this self-serving ronin mentality that aint sexy, but ive learned how to turn that ronin energy into sexy sigma (that needs a new name) vibes
[–]articulit 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Damn I think I’m currently on the self serving ronin mentality although I didn’t know there was a term for it lol
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Haha me either, i just sort of came up with that while watching anime, nothing wrong with it though, its a good way to process the experience of being alone and working on ones self

Yeah. 100% I'm 33 and most friends now stay at home not doing much. So I went out and over a year cultivate a new friendship group with a bunch of 20 somethings. Been great.
[–]SebastianPatel 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
where did you go out to meet all these new 20 somethings people?
[–]stanthemilkman88 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Moved closer to city then started to go to a bar regularly. Which had regulars. There then over a year I integrates into the community. It takes time and a lot of effort to this
[–]HajimeNoJake 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
How was going to a bar by yourself? And did you do it 5 days a week or just the weekend?
Asking cause I'm in the same situation and moving to a new city by myself so I have a basicly create a social life from scratch.
[–]stanthemilkman88 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Had to force myself. But I find the saying, "You're feeling are bad and you should feel bad for having them". Just decide what you want and take action.
It take time and consistent effort and if you can be in shape, it's easier. I work fifo tuseday morning fly back tusday evening then back next Tuseday. I went a couple times a week. Forced being social I find it draining but also like being around people, can be hell sometimes. Then got invited to private Facebook chat then started getting invited back to there numerous places. Then house parties its great. Took time.
Also you have you have to find the right place. I don't know what that looks like where you are.
Helpful if you don't have a touch of the tism but still managed it.
[–]HajimeNoJake 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks mate if I may ask what do you mean by "You're feeling are bad and you should feel bad for having them". I don't understand?
Also how did you know you were at the right place? Like what did that feel like to you?
[–]stanthemilkman88 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I feel too anxious go up to that group of people. I feel sad and don't want to go on that date. I feel tired and don't want to go to the gym.
Understand?
This place was smaller and had alot of regulars. You'll need to observe and discover that yourself.

This. It’s not everything, but it drives me nuts when guys claim to do everything to improve their game yet they still look like the pilsberry dough boy. Would you want to date a chubby girl with no ass? Didn’t think so, you wanna 10, then become a 10.
[–]noldi123 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Im would venture to say you are out of shape and not particularly physically attractive
No no. Attractive 6 2 go to the gym all that. I know a fair few gymcels though. Just can't talk at all.
But yeah, if you want girls going to the gym and getting jacked will be dingle great step towards that goal. You still need social skills.

No, it doesn't matter how well you think it's going. Trust me on this one, I've lived it. Take everything a day at a time and always be casting your net somewhere else.
[–]MudFlaky 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Lol this is the most beta boy post I've ever read. Dude got a boner when a girl gave him the slightest bit of attention and got sad cause he had no game whatsoever
[–]Significant-Carpet31 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
What game could he have done? What could he have done better? I'm curious
[–]vardarac 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If the going theory here is right, bounce her to some local spots to have fun and get to know her better and float the idea of coming back to your place after. Less "what should he have said to her" and more "how could he have gotten more investment".
The mentality of disappointment is perfectly understandable for a guy just starting out, but he has to remember that this kind of thing happens all the time and that little things like numbers or kino in the moment don't mean a thing by the time thirty minutes have passed.

I‘ve never met a chick who was so polite and vibrant.
Hell, I’ve never got met anyone who’s been so nice to me.
Most are so f**** racist.
We spoke for a while, asked each other all sorts of questions, she got really close to me, we had a bunch of laughs.
Sue me for feeling happy and caught off guard when she placed her head on my shoulder.
If feeling happy for just once in my life under these circumstances makes me a “beta boy”, then you’re a f**** scumbag.
Kys, dirtbag

I'm not trying to hurt your feelings. But it's just the truth. Would you rather someone keep it honest with you so you can improve or would you rather me say "OMG don't worry man girls just suck and life is hard!"
[–]Cowboylion 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Also, stop trying if you’re not ready for the big leagues.for example, stop cold approaching in hopes for a miracle. I’d avoid alcohol/ bars until you’re confident in your chances. Unless you’re just going out with friends.

#2 Is a big one for me.. Sometimes girls will cooperate with you by showing up and following your lead BUT will invest zero in the interaction.. For example:
Women date for a number of reasons. The woman I'm referring to was probably wanting male attention and dealing with me till she found something better or was just bored. It confused me because she kept showing up, would text me back, we even had sex, but it was like she wasn't there.
[–]Casanova-Quinn 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
you ask her out and where she wants to go "I don't care"
You should pick the location and time. Most women expect the man to take the lead. That's why they give you the "I don't know/care" answers, they're not comfortable leading.
[–]HajimeNoJake 30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If its the first three dates sure.. But on dates 5 and 6s naw.... I'm looking for a woman not a daughter.
I'm not even asking to be led just effort/input.
[–]Casanova-Quinn 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I can agree with that now that you’ve clarified it’s for beyond 3rd dates.
[–]adsq93 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This exact thing happened to me. She was never truly there. She really didn’t want to develop any emotional bond or true intimacy.
[–]jsbach123 30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If a girl shows no interest or disrespects you, you MUST walk. Don't get pissed or react. Just seek elsewhere. This isn't just about your pride. It makes sense from a probability standpoint...
Option #1 - If you keep chasing, the odds you'll change her mind is practically zero. She's likely disinterested because you failed to show any high-value traits. By chasing and being her doormat, she sees you as even lower value.
Option #2 - If you drop her, there's a chance she sees that as a high-value trait. She might think "he must be a man of value with options".
Granted, the odds for a good outcome with option #2 is still low but it's higher than option #1. It's all about playing the odds.

It's not that straight many women play hard to get sometimes. Many of emm have even lost the ability to keep a good man. Literally I have seen women starting conversations with so weird topics.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
If a girl tries twice to talk to me whether that is something weird I would get a confirmation that though she is a bit naive in conversation but she is interested. So then I would try to ease her up.
[–]MariaTieneHambre 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
That's good to know! Honestly sometimes I feel like a fool with the topics that I come up with
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
If you have a Genuine interest for someone in your eyes the words won't matter anymore. But sadly today people just play mind games with each other.
[–]MariaTieneHambre 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You are right! Thanks :) I actually have a date today and this helped. And yes I agree, it feels like people are so concerned in not "loosing" that everything becomes a game
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
They are trying hard to be perfect but they forget that perfection is boring. We are attracted to the rough edges of other people in reality.
[–]MariaTieneHambre 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I couldn't have said better myself. It is always that one thing that makes someone unique thats interesting. Also, I feel like most people have the same idea of what perfect is, which means that they just end up trying to be the same as everyone else, they lose their individuality in a sense
[–]notLOL 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Uttzpretzels 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
We play hard to get to gauge interest and intent. I only do this when I’m confused by him or know that he’s been around the block a few times. It’s not cause we lost the ability to keep a good man. It’s to weed out the shit ones and find the good ones.
Y’all play other crazy games too to makes us crazy about you so I don’t wanna hear it 😂
[–]TwoTomatoMe 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I haven’t been single for a while now, but on the dating apps I remember when this would happen from time to time and I’m proud of myself for how I dealt with it. My approach to talking with my matches went by this approach : 1. Greeting/Compliment 2. Converse in some friendly banter long enough to feel she should be comfortable for the next step to 3. Make plans for a date. In my opinion and experience, I felt step #2 should be a mutual exchange and should never take too long (15-30 mins in most cases, rarely 60mins or longer) to reach the next step. It should basically be a test (for myself and my match) to see that this person isn’t crazy, has a sense of humor, and it would be interesting to meet them in a public place for a date. And these two rules that op made are pretty good yardstick to determine if it’s one sided. If I felt the exchange was me doing all the work, I would tell the girl something like “Well (girl’s name) it was nice meeting you. I usually don’t spend this much of my time talking with someone without setting a time for a date, and at this point I think it’s clear we don’t have chemistry, so I’m going to respectfully go my separate way. I genuinely hope you find what you’re looking for and I wish you the best.” This often would suddenly make the girl interested which was amusing but also not that surprising. By that point I genuinely lost interest because I meant what I said. It’s a huge turn off when I feel like I’m getting strung along or being treated as fallback plan. And it makes me believe that person is likely attention hungry and/or just wants to be pursued, is not interested in me, and immature. These traits never worked on me especially for someone who is in their 30s and knows very well that reciprocating your efforts to someone showing these traits is only a show of desperation, and I am not that person. Move to the next match and never look back.
[–]Background_Relief_90 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]HajimeNoJake 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
In the beginning most times you wont.. However after the first two weeks (maybe month) she should be sparking most of the text convos.

Never happens like this
[–]HajimeNoJake 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Then I don't know what to tell you.. Maybe more self improvement. The chick should WANT to see you after you aren't a stranger.. And women (in general) don't have the best discipline so they should initiate first after they get to know you.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I'm getting more muscular. Almost like Zac Efron in Baywatch minus the rock cut abs. I've worked on face and hairstyle too. Improved my fashion sense too. But except one girl that proposed me, none of the girls text me first, ask to meet etc
How long do you deal with them before they dissappear?
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
They don't disappear. They just don't text first, carry on the conversations like initiating topics, asking about me, wanting to meet etc
That is disappearing.. They would fall off the face of the earth if you didn't reach out. It is literally the same thing you are just clinging.

This really seems like a matter of having a little common sense, but I suppose it doesn’t hurt to be said.
If a girl’s into you, you’re generally going to know. If she’s cold or disengaged during the date, duh.
I wouldn’t say anything, just withdraw your attention and see if she reaches out. If not, there’s your answer.
[–]bolhass 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Like one of my friend says, when you meet a girl you have to look deep inside and see if any part of you wants to fuck. If yes, make a move. If she rejects you, cut her out nicely and move on.

The definition of no shit
Some good pointers here. It's all about abundance mindset. If you come across as a guy with little to no options, then don't be surprised if she will treats you as such.
I think you really have to call a girl's bluff and be prepared to walk away if she is disrespecting your dignity and stringing you along. No matter how much you're into her. Hurts at first but I guarantee it's a lot less heartache than spending time with someone who has the personality of a plank of wood. Or having unsatisfying sex and feeling like you've fucked a startfish.
Be worth liking as well. Actually plan dates, meaning time and place already set. I know I’ll be a “dead lead” if the guy is taking too long to set up a date and just wants to text for days on end.
Also, lots of men act like because they find a woman attractive then she’s just supposed to return the same sentiments.
[–]External_Lifeguard49 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Really useful PSA. I learnt this the long way. Just remember there are women who are going to keep you in their orbit for self esteem or flake. Give these folks two, maybe three chances, to come around, then cut them off and move on.
You want to invest in healthy respectful relationships not a parasitic ones.
Thanks for this

In this context: how much time, effort and energy a person would spend interacting with another person.

[–]akawall2 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Ahhh gotcha. Some good indicators would be if the person is barely responding to your texts, and/or if the responses are as dry as cotton(superficial convos that lead nowhere). Usually girls that get a lot of attention tend to act this way towards guys they don't find that interesting, but wanna keep them around as a plan b or c.

It's kinda a tough decision sometimes right? Because some girls like to be pursued; particularly the more decent/shy ones. So it's a judgment call you have to make sometimes. I'd say if it's kinda a promiscuous/party girl this applies, but if she's the shy type you might want to loosen things up a bit.
Well, damn I guess I shouldn’t talk to any girls then

My 2 cents? A lot of people go for The-Second-Invite Mindset (it’s ok if she said no because you can invite her one more time for a second try)… well, I know modern routines keep us busies and all this things. But I also know communication and interest flow both ways. Ask yourself: is she bringing new subjects to the table or is she just answering your questions? Develop a feeling to scan when someone isn’t into you.
A lot of people on Reddit said a message can sink into a lot of other ones today. But c’mon, if she’s really into you, she’ll make time or respond you in a proper inviting way.

My ex flirted heaps with me the other night and I ended up in her bed… she said she wanted to hang out again but two days later I received a message saying she’s confused and doesn’t want me to think we’re all good. I said no worries I don’t really care what she does and that she probably needs to go and date around a bit to clear her mind (I wanted to show her that’s what I’m doing and not look needy too, even though I still have w feelings).
How about in this situation? She gives me signs and flirts then fucks off like that. Maybe next time I won’t let it happen…
Hi guys how to make an interaction flirtatious?
[–]max_insa 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Hint at your interest for her
Got examples? I’ve tried touching her more when I’m laughing or talking, teasing her with a push when she says something ridiculous or funny etc
Those are not showing interest or even remotely close from hinting at it.
Do the same but times 10x
"LOL you're so sexy when you laugh" is the proper way to flirt, for example.

It's really about consistent reciprocation. Is she consistently initiating and reciprocating dates, conversations, sex. I think the basis of any adult interaction is transactional, at least in the beginning. You put in a little bit of effort and see if you get something worthwhile in return. If she responds one-word or buisness-like to you, walk away. If you ask her out and she can't make it but doesn't give a specific time to reschedule, walk away. Don't put effort into a black hole. Don't let her lead you on.
Women are indirect. Anything but an enthusiastic yes is a no. No response is a response. A lot of it stems from need for validation and fear of being injured/embarassed (whether that's justified or not).

Very insightful. Been heartbroken like this a few times. They want attention and will just leave you at some point
[–]ValerieVexen 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Agreed, mostly.
I'm at work, right. Nothing special. good looking, I'll give myself that.I get a smile. Some will, some won't. If they smile they are typically far more receptive to a conversation, at the least.

There's this chick who used to do all above. she tells me that she doesn't see me that way even though she used to do above(including, sexting, flirting, romance talks). This kept happening for 1.5 years (due to pandemic we couldn't meet, we met thrice in a year). And also we went on a hiking trip (where we really got close, she would be more affectionate). But after 2-3 weeks she said she doesn't feel that way etc, denied everything that we did before as a joke. I don't know what to do? Recently she took a week to reply back as if nothing really happened? seriously? you reply after a week and talk like nothing happened? she would also make me wait 10-15 mins for a response while staying online where as she used to reply back instantly always, i have left her on unread because it was really disrespectful towards me (and i had seen her online many times during this period, so don't say that she could be busy and not reply) she never use to do that. its been a week i haven't read her message. So what should I do? I don't want to play any games but this was hurtful, even after everything i get treated like this.

I would also add: do they ever take any initiative towards you? Even just asking you questions rather than just responding to yours. If the answer is no, then move on.

Yup, a women will give it up for a guy she likes really easily.
My gf always said she "waited a year" to date guys but she let me hit within 4 days.

[–]max_insa -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]getyahfuckingyeeted 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
r/restofthefuckingowl
How though?
How do I meet women?
[–]max_insa 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Do you really need me to tell you to go to the gym / make more money / practice social skills?
And to also go out and approach pretty girls anytime you see one?

Thank you all for your input
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks for this, saved me from further despair.. in a hindsight I never met a girl that reciprocated my feelings/interest.. might as well die single and virgin lol sob
You're welcome. If you want girls to reciprocate interest you must display attractive qualities. If you don't they will not show interest. DM me if you wanna talk more about this bruv

I'm daygaming in wellington with decent results.
Got C.400 sets under my belt but keen to work with a wing.
HMU.
Hold on so if I’m naive and don’t pick up on the flirting right away. I’m going to be dropped? Man wtf. I work with nothing but guys and all they do is make sexual jokes in conversation. I’ve just adapted to that being normal talk from men and continue regular conversation especially through text.
I think this guy was into me. He dropped innuendos everywhere. I’d just laugh react and continue on. Lmaooooo omg 🤦🏻♀️ should I text him?
