Get in the habit of asking any woman you're interested in out on a date ASAP. Don't hesitate, don't beat around the bush, just ask. her. out.

Oneitis is rooted in the fear of rejection. You hesitate to ask a woman out because you're afraid she's going to reject you, so instead you hang back and daydream what it would be like to be with her. You play out scenarios about the two of you frolicking in la-la land, her meeting your parents, you getting married, yadda yadda. Cringey...

You get infatuated with that idealized, picture perfect version of her in your head. Actually asking her out and potentially getting rejected by her threatens that fantasy, because there's the very real chance that it'll shatter that fantasy and leave you back at square one.

When you ask her out sooner, you ideally haven't given your brain the chance to develop that fantasy that will probably never happen. If she rejects you, it doesn't sting as badly since you never had the chance for your brain to paint a pretty picture. If she says yes, then you have a chance to start painting a real picture with her.

Being single and alone is much better than being stuck with a fantasy.

Start building a rotation. As in, begin trying to date/talk to other women. Develop an interest in them. While it may not seem like you are into other women at first, since the girl in question is at the top rn, eventually time will settle in and you will developed interest in these other women.

Additionally, work on yourself while you are at it as well. Develop your career, hobbies, and hit the gym. This will keep you focused on yourself for your own future and good.

You can keep this girl around and try to date her if you can, but up until you can actually start having other "options", establishing an abundance mindset will be rather difficult.

You don’t need to talk with 7 women at once if you only genuinely like one. You just need to master yourself not to smother her. Go hang with your friends, do an activity or learn new skills for example. There’s so many things you can do with others or alone. Focus on being content with yourself.

To be completely honest with you, you really sorta can't unless you actually have abundance. BUT I have dated and I know a lot of very confident men who have developed a similar mindset by simply having a lot of interests besides women. I don't know what to label it or what goes through their heads but certainly they are not constantly scurrying behind my feet like friend zoned dudes or faux gay guys who are just happy to be around me.

My advice is that if there's no abundance of women, I'm sorry to hear that, hope it's temporary, but find an abundance of other interests in the meantime.

Unrelated but it's actually worse for non-conventionally attractive women, because I feel women devote a much larger proportion of their total time and energy to relationships. Those women really aren't feeling abundant either, and in fact, "incel" women are some of the most bitter people I know.

Do what the women do and play their game so they don't know what hit them. Even a good girl with a good father in her life will still have 6, 7 fwbs in their phone when they are single, let alone how many the thots got. Totally agree with a lot of these others suggesting things to get you out of one-itis. They work and I’m not going to touch on those at all.

From a different (my) perspective though- honestly that “obsessed” feeling is not a bad feeling per se, and can be quite motivating in getting you to work out and go hard in life. When it’s gone one day (absolutely inevitable even if you ended up with that exact girl), you’ll look back on it and miss it.

From a totally different viewpoint, I think that obsessed feeling is honestly just a coping mechanism for a lot of people to seek a dopamine influx through small signals that you get from her. Her sending small doses from a pedestal can be exhilarating like ~~taking~~ shooting up a drug. Do you have any other ADHD symptoms? Likely not, but worth looking into anyways.

I'm currently going through this as well, so I understand.

Stop all communication with this girl.
Allow yourself to process the emotional heartbreak, but DO NOT GIVE IN and try contacting her when you feel lonely. This will only prolong the heartbreak. If you have to, block her number and anything that will remind you of her. This is for your own mental health, not hers.
Focus your attention on your own self improvement, and other women. Don't limit yourself to just one person.
Let go of the idea of chasing. Use attraction instead.

The effort it takes to feel abundant would almost be the same effort it takes to actually be somewhat abundant so you won't need to lie to yourself.

This usually applies to a lot of realistic goal. If you want to have a confident mindset then just be someone that you will have confidence in. A lot of these things are proving to yourself what you are.

Of course more girls will creat an abundance mentality but if you’re struggling to attract more options, I think the best use of your time would be to invest 90% of your time and energy into building your career, a more lucrative skillset or working more hours to save money. Especially if you’re young, this is something you should be trying to do anyway to increase your dating pool and bring more to the table, so why not start now. You kill two birds with one stone, because you’re keeping yourself busy and less focused on one particular person, while also building your actual value and competence as a man. I am very interested and engaged with advancing my career and I literally don’t have time to sit by my phone waiting for a girl to text back.

I had this same problem from mid-October to late January. My obsession got so severe that I would think about her every waking hour of the day. My grandpa also died of cancer in December so that made my obsession even worse. When I got back to school in early January, this girl went w/ another guy and a few others and I didn’t, ofc. I was devastated at first, but over a few weeks, improved drastically. I started talking to other girls, often hotter ones, even ignoring her if I saw her at events. I was depressed but forced myself to get out and socialize. She ended up asking me to hang in March, almost 2 months after I’d moved on w/ my life.

I was really struggling with abundance mindset a year ago, I didn't understand it - do you have to fake having options when you don't have any? But I understand it now. It starts closer to your sense of self, and how you view the world than I thought. I saw suggestions to try talking to many other girls, which isn't a bad idea. But if you have scarcity mindset, talking to lots of girls will most likely result in getting blown out repeatedly, which won't help.

There's a psychological theory called transactional analysis. Part of what it teaches is that there are 4 different ways we can view ourselves in relation to the world/other people 1. You're OK; I'm not OK. 2 I'm OK; You're not OK 3. You're not OK; I'm not OK. 4 You're OK; I'm OK. Basically do you look at yourself as damaged or inferior, do you view other people as inferior or hostile, do you think both. Or 4. Do you truly believe that (in general) people are good, and do you believe that you're good. Do you believe that there are plenty of fun, kind, interesting people in the world (some of whom are hot girl's) and do you believe that you are fun, kind and interesting enough for them to want to know you. Once you truly believe this, you will have abundance mentality, whether you're speaking to 100 girls, or just 1. You'll also have abundance mentality not just about girls, but friends, jobs, opportunities.

Go out and fail a few times. You gotta get comfortable with the idea that you can (and will) flop sometimes. Once you realize it’s not actually that bad, a huge weight is lifted off you.

Also, a big +1 for the “don’t hesitate” advice. Anxiety generally grows in proportion to the amount of time between noticing the attractive woman and you actually asking her out.
