I see a lot of discussion of high-value men and low-value men in these communities, but the descriptions are often vague. I realize there's a degree of subjectivity and individual preferences with assigning value, but there has to be a way to get it somewhat close in a way that will reflect a majority/plurality of women's preferences. I saw a couple examples on Google, but I don't think they did a very good job. If you've seen one that is decent, feel free to link in the comments. My target demographic is men in their mid-20s to mid-30s. My goal is to create an algorithm that take the responses to several categories to give a final weighted score corresponding to a male's market value.
Categories
These will be the factors that when taken together, determine a man's market value. I'm thinking physical appearance, height, money, personality, and status/prestige. It may be more controversial, but the argument could be made to include race as well. I'm not sure if hair is worthy of its own category or if it should just be a part of physical appearance. Personality could also be broken down into more categories as well.
Scoring
I think quintiles (1-5) are probably the best way to score the categories. I see a lot of ranking on a 1-10 scale, but I think that is too specific. Also, being in the lowest or highest quintile of a category will have a bigger impact than the middle three quintiles the on the final score as well (i.e., being in the lowest 20 percentile of height will more drastically lower your score than the difference between the 40 and 60 percentile of height). Personality and status/prestige are a little trickier to score than the other categories. I'm pretty confident I could score men's appearance from 1-5, but personality or status might need smaller scoring. I'm also not sure whether to apply more weight to some categories compared to others
Let me know your suggestions and if you know of any studies or surveys that may be useful. I'm also aware that this is probably a waste of time, but I'm doing it anyway.

It’s true that some people don’t care about specific things, but this is a generalization. Most people would value a doctor over a cashier, but it doesn’t mean everyone does.

I think it’s far more subjective than you think.
Consider that men like both Kate Moss and Kim Kardashian. Women’s preferences are equally diverse so you might be able to develop a Venn diagram that is somewhat true to life, but anything more exact will not be materially accurate.

True, but I think some things are universal. A good bone structure looks nice in both denim and a suit.

True. Probably not too hard to figure out that for a ONS, importance of appearance and personality go up, and for relationships, money and status go up.

I think something in the bottom 20% of any category will probably affect you the most. You’d probably have to make top 5% income to overcome being in the bottom 20% for appearance and height. Top 20% income is low $100s, and I don’t think that’s enough to overcome 5’6” and obesity. Same goes for top 20% personal appearance, but you have some clinical mental disorder affecting your personality. You’d have to be pretty tall and attractive to overcome that.

I think the trouble with surveys is when you get to topics like race or money. People might change their answer because they don’t want to be perceived as racist or a gold digger. They might even lie to themselves when answering, but their behavior may ultimately prove otherwise.
