Someone commented about women shaping men into good partners for other people. I disagree. I think he always knew what was expected and how to meet those expectations, but didn’t value previous partners enough to put in effort.

I disagree with the picture though, what actually happened is he got desperate and rushed into lock that woman down after 6 months. I've seen it happen this way many times. The dude though would pursue women out of his league, keep getting rejected, and then he will snatch up whatever lower value pickme and hand over that ring. Especially true for young military men to get the benefits, especially true for non military guys that are hitting 30 (the hairline recedes, the beer belly busts out, faces are wrinkling from years of no spf or care)

The other man I knew was a neighbor of my grandparents. He was always invited in to chat. He had a lot of financial issues after his wife passed away. He quickly started dating again and eventually found a pickme around his own age, who was putting her money into renovating his house, she bought him a nice car, and was bringing him on cruises (she was paying for it all, she made about 4x as much as him based on their positions). He was a massive gold digger and ended up having her move in and get married in like 5 months.

And my friend was dating an international student. He admitted to me and my other friends that he needed a greencard and was flustered that she wouldn't marry and give him kids even though she was 20 and in school. She dumped him after he admitted this to her and found a pickme with a bad home life who he married in about 6 months. He was able to get his greencard and finish his school and start a job. It sounds awful but he was in my friend group at the time and literally said it himself.

Yes men KNOW if they think you're the the one but they will not rush into a marriage or be rushing the relationship. They should date you for over a year at LEAST before getting engaged or married.

Lvm will rush into things, and often have other motives like the ones I mentioned

I would also say to be cautiously aware of men who rush to marriage. My ex met his now fiancé not even 2 weeks after I left him (and before our divorce was even finalized). He was actively peddling to find someone, met her, moved in and proposed less than 9 months later. TBH I don’t even think she is aware that he was previously married. So I say that to say, vet vet vet. Yes it sounds nice to say “men know” but also so do narcissistic predators looking for supplies.

Not only that but it's also about timing. In the 5 years men spend with the forever girlfriend they're getting all the perks, learning how to be in a relationship and cohabitation. With the next girl they've already gone through all that and are ready to marry right away.

I don't believe that a man "know if you are the one within months" in the sense that he loves that person. I think men will marry someone as soon as he thinks that he can't find someone better than the last. I dont think men have a real capacity to actual love a woman. He'll see what she can do for him ( baby maker, beauty -> elevate his status, caregiver, a second mom, etc.). In that situation the guy was with his ex for so long because at the time he didnt fin someone better than her. Hence why he didnt marry her.

I don't think men necessarily have "the one." Most of them don't, at least. Rushing into marriage is never a good idea and I'd never trust a man who knew he wanted to marry me in the first few months of dating. I'd think he's hiding something and with rushing into marriage, I won't have time to really observe him.

The one for any man is a woman willing to put up with his bs at the time he's decided to settle. The first one he meets who accepts that, knowingly or not, is the one.

No. This happens often, but here’s why: people who feel “emotionally damaged” from long term relationships and suddenly fall in love with a new rebound person. The honeymoon phase, ‘instant connection,’ adrenaline, the chase, getting to know them, the crazy passionate new sex, it is all addictive. It’s like looking at the world through rose colored glasses; everything about this person seems perfect. Your body and brain are screaming yes, excited over every little thing. It is all about timing; this same initial feeling you could have felt towards your ex at 26 feels MORE significant and real at 31, when marriage and children are more realistic. Finances in a better place. More of your shit together. Do not assume “when they know, they know” - sure, it’s nice when that happens - but it’s an unrealistic standard to put into someone’s head.

I doubt there is “the one” for LVM since they always yearn for something else that their current partner doesn’t have. They live off infatuation and lust, so next girl will easily give them the idea of being “the one” as the LVM becomes bored of the stable love and care his current/previous partner has been providing all these years because they want the feeling of “chase” and “something exciting”. Maybe he will commit to the new girl, maybe he won’t, but one thing is for sure is that few years down the road, he will have another idea of “the one” emerging from the back of his pathetic little head. Whether he will take action or not is another story (divorce vs (physically/emotionally cheating)) I refuse to believe there is actually the one for LVM, because they truly don’t deserve to be in any innocent women’s life forever.

Men do this for multiple reasons

One of them being breaking up with you made them realize they need a girlfriend in the form of a mommy bang maid now that they don't have one anymore

Another being they settled for you because you were convenient and men have proven time and time again they will do this

If a man isn't willing to commit after a year or at least talking about it, you shouldn't be with them at all.
